Where should pencil skirt hit on your leg?

I just bought my first No. 2 pencil skirt from J. Crew last night (I'm soooo late to the game on this one!). I will need to have it hemmed. Should I aim to have it just a little above my knee or a little below my knee? I'm leaning toward a little bit above my knee.

I think I wear mine long (longer than I prob should); mine skims the top of my knee cap when standing

I have short legs, so I like mine to end at the top of my knee cap. Otherwise I look extra stubby.

I wear mine like hz, just skimming the top of my knee.

Well, according to Stacy & Clinton (hehe), it should always be at your knee. If you’re on the shorter side, then it can hit the top of the knee. If you’re on the taller side, you can do it on the lower part of the knee.

Knee cap here. I'm short, but it hits the right spot! Not sure how, it's like magic.
