My mom's divorce isn't final yet (probably in October) but she's been thinking of the idea of going on a date. She does want to wait until it's final but I think she's getting excited about the idea of dating someone new. She married my dad at 19, after all.
I logged into my inactive match.com account to do a search for her of men in her age range (she's going to be 55). We did a search of men 48-60 and she was pleasantly surprised with how many of them seemed like someone she could be interested in. It was fun to watch her get excited for something like that. I think she'll create her own profile and get signed up once they are finalized.
I'm really proud of her for being so strong and standing up for herself. She deserves the best and I have a strong feeling she will find it!

That's really cute, I'm excited for her too! I was reading something not long ago that the divorce rate for 50-60 somethings has spiked recently, because middle age isn't what it was years ago and people who stayed together for their kids are realizing they still have time to find happiness. Even if it isn't with another partner, they are freeing themselves to pursue other dreams.

That's great! I will have to pass that information along to her. And really, it does make sense.
Good for her! I did that after I left XH before I was ready to date too. It made me so hopeful that I wouldn't be alone forever. If she raised you, she must be a great woman who will have no trouble meeting someone special
She's great! AND she's a hot mama! Did you see my FB pics of her in a bikini at the lake this weekend?
I was laughing to my friend, D, that V hit on her at the wedding. He was like "well, V is a douche BUT your mom IS hot, I have to say". Too funny!
Haha, he's not a cowboy, that's my other cousin (who's 31 and totally an eligible bachelor) and my little bro is also a cowboy.
But yah, he's legal. And he's great with kids-P loves him!
Isn't your bro a player? Why have you been hiding these hot cousins from me?!?!! That's it, I'm coming to visit dammit!
The little bro is a player but I think that he COULD settle down. I'd rather hook you up with B, my cousin who's 31 and the rodeo/steer wrestler guy. I'm going to message you with his name so you can Google him. He made it to the National Finals Rodeo and won the average not this past year but the year before. He's 10th in the world right now in steer wrestling.

Achase has a good looking family.
Also, I am happy for your mom. Do you think your strength through your divorce had anything to do with her finally calling it quits with your dad? I can't imagine her not witnessing your situation up close and not seeing hope and happiness at the end of the tunnel.
This is AWESOME!!! Has she given any thought to going out with V? LOL just kidding. I want to see her profile!
She doesn't have one yet....friend request me on FB and you can see the pics from the wedding and this weekend. She's so beautiful!
@bnb-I think it may have had something to do with it...not sure. When I was dating J, she was just breaking it off with my dad. Even though he and i weren't right she saw that he treated me well and with respect. I think it made her realize that she was lacking that in her marriage.
I really don't know what finally caused her to pull the plug. She had been back and forth about it for a long, long time. I'm just glad she did because she's so deserving of someone great.
