I would, but it's probably an unpopular opinion.
Any chance they could pick a week with a Jewish holiday (if your school takes those off), Columbus or Veteran's Day, or try to do August to avoid missing as many days?

Oh, and if we did go I would try to fly back Saturday (even if it's earlier than the rest of the crowd) to give her a day to adjust back to normal time.
For me, I wouldn't take them out of school for that long. My kids don't really adjust to new schedules well. Putting up with the tears for the first few weeks of K, taking a vacation and then going through the same tears wouldn't be worth it to me.
But if yours are able to go with the flow, then yay (almost) free vacation! Otherwise, I'd try to get your ILs to come over.
Probably not that early into kindergarten. My niece had to miss two days of kindergarten when she was sick and she was distraught over it. Obviously all kids are different but I wouldn't want to say "hey here's school this really important place we go to everyday" and then be like "whee, we're out of here!" a few weeks later. I would probably be breezier about this as the years went on and I saw how she was doing at school.

I would do it but a kid free trip also sounds great. I want to take my DD back to the States for ToT so I would take my kid out of school even if it not for something super educational.
Yes of course. It wouldn't bother me at all. As they get older maybe, but even then it's just a week so not a big deal.
And I wouldn't write off a whole other week to jet lag either. I know kids are different but we travel to Europe twice a year and it usually takes a day or two for them to adjust on either end, and it's getting easier as they age. Babies are tough but as they get older I would say it will be fine.
I would. I went on a trip with a couple of kids (not mine lol - kid free vacation!) and their teachers sent some worksheets and had them do a "what I did on my trip" type report and that was "just" to South Carolina. I bet a cool report on Germany would be fun for kindergarteners.
In a heart beat without a second thought. She is going to daycare/preshcool now so us use to routine. I don't think getting her adjusted back to it would be an issue.
Yeah I am with @mrswindycity. I doubt my kid at 5 would appreciate an international trip and it would be stressful for me to take her. I have like, maybe 2 memories from when I was 5. I honestly don't remember much (outside of what images pictures/videos have shown me) from before 2nd grade.
I wouldn't care if my kid remembered it forever and ever or truly appreciated it, she will have fun while she is there. And maybe more importantly your parents will remember and appreciate the trip.
She may remember though. I went to Iceland when I was 5 (didn't miss school but did miss meet the teacher) and I still have more memories from that trip than from all of K combined.
