Is eating is the worst part of WFH for anyone else too?
For me it's not that I eat too much, it is that I don't want to stop and make myself anything. I miss the office coffee pot and lunches out with coworkers!
I only have 8hrs to work before picking kids up, so I don't have time to take a good lunch break. Often I just get sucked into my computer and don't even stop to eat. (Don't hate, forgetting to eat is a legit problem for me.) Only rarely can I make myself eat leftovers for lunch because it is just too depressing. Recently I've been scheduling meetings for around lunch so I have an excuse to get take out! HA!
I do a lot of meal planning and leftovers, and make a point of actually going to our main kitchen in the house for meals. Breakfast is hard for me, I always get sucked in and all of a sudden it's 10am and I'm starving
Yes I have to have lunches planned and prepped or else I don't eat. Usually a batch of soup works well. I've been having baked potatoes and rotisserie chicken too since that's fairly easy. Sandwiches are too hard, even if I have toppings made up!
I run down and make something quickly but also eat at my desk (both breakfast and lunch) since I only have a limited number of working hours while our nanny is here. I used to stop and take an actual lunch break every day.

Yes, because I'm lazy, but I tell myself I'm not. I have grand plans of "clean eating" meals when I go to the grocery store. Real life, the cookies and popcorn get eaten before any real food.
Also, because I only WFH part time, and the nanny only comes 1 day a week for 5 hours. The rest of the time I'm working while my 5 month old naps...so whatever is quick and easy goes in my mouth as I race upstairs to get her while on a conference call...
Yup.. most of the time I end up snacking, or forgetting to eat until 2 or 3 because I'm just working and not thinking until my stomach is too loud to ignore, ha!
Last year I did pretty well with salads and made a bunch of hard boiled eggs ahead of time to make it easy to throw together. This year not so much.
I get so hungry when I'm just sitting working. If I am up and about doing other stuff I don't eat all day. But on a work day I just starve. And I have my whole kitchen to dig through in old jobs at least I was limited to my bagged lunch.
I actually find the food to be one of the better parts of WFH. But I used to mostly eat at my desk so my options were limited to whatever I brought in and could heat in a microwave. I make way better lunches now.

I agree with this. i eat way better now that I work from home. It's nice to be able to make a quick salad or sandwich, fresh, rather than eat something I packed in the morning and is all squished. Or go down to the overpriced deli in my old office building. I frequently heat up leftovers as well. When I cook, I make enough for multiple meals so I'll munch on that for a few days. It's nice to not have to scramble in the mornings to make sure I have decent food to eat during the day.
This is me 100%. I forget to eat when I WFH. Then I end up throwing popcorn in at 2 because I realize I'm hungry. I also work just 8-4 and just keep pushing through.

In amazed at how many people forget to eat. I feel like I spend all morning watching the clock and waiting for it to be an acceptable time to eat lunch :/

Solidarity! Forgetting to eat? What?! I'm ready for lunch at 9am.

This. I have lots of protein-heavy snacks I can graze on throughout the day- things like hummus, hard-boiled eggs, cheese sticks, cottage cheese cups, yogurt, nuts, trail mix, etc. That can all get me through if there's no time for something quick like a quesadilla or sandwich or if I don't have any leftovers.
But I also decamp to our coffee shop or elsewhere sometimes to work there and have lunch. This is easier when I have projects that I can read/look at hard copies of than when I need my computer.
I make overnight oats to eat in the morning and that usually keeps me full until 2 or 3 and then I have a snack. But I do always have lunch meat on hand and usually items to make a salad if I'm hungry for lunch. I make myself go get food but do go back into my office to eat it. A few months ago when I wasn't as busy, I would take my laptop into the living room and eat lunch while watching TV. Exciting!
