I cannot wake up today. I've been at work over an hour and have done nothing and keep zoning out. I need to sleep in tomorrow. I also need to stop shopping. I had 3 packages delivered yesterday and there are 3 more on the way!

Last night, H was telling me about the doctor's appointment he had earlier in the day. He said, "Do you know what the doctor said?" DD immediately piped in with "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"
I need to do a 2 week low carb meal plan or something. I'm feeling totally overwhelmed bc I need to count calories and don't want to make the kids a separate meals. Blech.
Debating a trip to sephora with the boys to get my 500 point reward but it seems like a recipe for disaster...
Mine too. It's been 8 days of horrible sleep. It doesn't seem like it's going to end.
This sounds like a short term problem but really she only slept ok for about 3 weeks so far. And then she turned back to newborn like sleeping. You are not a newborn. Evidence is my back hurting because you are giant.

I'm still laying in bed because the baby is still sleeping!!!! I figured her sleep would be crappy since we are on vacation but so far it's been amazing! Today we are going to see Fort McHenry and I'm not sure what else. Any suggestions for something to do in Baltimore? Yesterday we did the Inner Harbor and the National Aquarium.
Going to head to the zoo with the kids before it gets super gross out.
I just reached out to a former coworker whose current company is hiring and I'm still waiting to hear back from my mentor about salary advice but I may start a thread about that here if I don't have a response from him by later this afternoon. I've been digging around on glass door. Does anyone have any suggestions on where else to look?

I just spent 20 minutes talking through dial-in information with my colleague for a meeting of hers this morning. There was no phone number in our list for the country we're calling, but I remembered that to call this person, it's like a regular US phone call, so we can use the same information we use in Virginia.
20 minutes to figure that out...
We also had to test the dial-in number, even though it's the SAME EXACT DIAL-IN NUMBER SHE ALWAYS USES!!!!!!!!!!!
No wonder my work suffers, she's constantly distracting me and taking me off my own tasks, which always means I'm trying to get back on track. (I say as I'm writing this message instead of working. )
Even though I'm at work today (on my day off, same story, different pay period these days), I'm getting my eyebrows threaded at lunch and my hair highlighted and cut after work! Squeezing in a little pampering where I can.

FWIW, my kid would happily eat bread with her dinner if you want a carb you can basically throw at them. If we grill burgers or dogs, she will eat the bun separate from the meat 99% of the time.
In typical Kdubs fashion, I'm finally jumping in a trend a full year later. I'm rocking The Shirt from Express. You know, the one everyone lost their minds over last year.
I bought it last year thinking it would work while pregnant. Not so much. I just found it when cleaning out my closet. It's not great on me, but it still looks better than 99% of my prepregnancy clothes.
This weekend is crazy. We have a kindergarten social at DD's school tonight, birthday party tomorrow, kids' ballet tomorrow night, and birthday party Sunday.
TV recommendation for people who need something new for their 2-5-year-old: Beat Bugs! It's on Netflix, and it builds each episode around a different Beatles song. I'm sure you guys have heard about it because it's been blowing up on the Internet, but it's adorable, and the music is of course great, because of The Beatles! C adores it and asks to hear "Beat Bugs" songs on my phone or to be sung before bed. Easy peasy!
Dang it, we currently have Hulu and not Netflix. But DH will be so excited about this! And maybe the kid too :-)
We are going to Detroit for the weekend so DH can go to the driving experience I bought him for his birthday. Hopefully the kids do okay in the car for two hours. I'm looking forward to a fun weekend!
I ordered my breast pump from a medical supply company the other day and they called me today to tell me that insurance wants $230 toward my deductible for it. Which, I knew it was subject to my deductible, but I can buy that pump (Spectra) for $121 on Amazon right now. So lol. I may just see how well my PISA is still working and go from there.
First world problem: We were doing a favor for H's CW/friend and picking up his kid from daycare and watching her until about 9:00 tonight due to some schedule conflicts on their end.
Fast forward to this morning and the mom was able to get her shift covered and asked if they could still come over for a dinner play date. Guys, I wasn't planning to entertain an adult I really don't know and my house is not picked up to the point I'd like for a first impression (I promise this means bare bones, not immaculate by any stretch). I was planning to finish before she picked up her kiddo I'm already at work so it's too late for me to do anything, and I'm glad I don't have to bum out DD1 because she was excited, but mannnn.
So much to do this mornings.. I have invoices and work emails to send, set up my vacation auto-response, pay bills since I won't have internet at our lake house, and run a bunch of errands all before we need to leave for DH's friend's wake this afternoon. Then packing, and packing the car tonight so we can hopefully get on the road right after breakfast in the morning.
Also I need to load something for DD to watch on the tablet in the car. Any suggestions for a 1 year old? We don't really watch anything with her at home, just music. But think I'll need to have something to get through 8+ hours in a car.

After dating for nearly 10 years, married for over 7, I think last night I might have finally gotten through to DH that he is depressed and needs help. He's not 100% set on drugs yet, but I think he's willing to at least go see a therapist.
This isn't something that effects us daily, but he's admitted that he's sad all the time, and just hides it until he's too tired or something sets him off (maybe 3-4x year), and then we fight. Last night he was playfully making fun of Big Brother (one of my guilty pleasures) and I responded louder than probably necessary, but suddenly I was "yelling" and he shut down and wouldn't talk to me.
Is a therapist the best starting point? How do I make sure said person would be able to prescribe anti-depressants if that's what he needs?
After losing one of our cats back in Feb, I think we are finally ready to adopt another cat. Our one cat is not meant to be a single kitty. He's bored out of his little skull at home alone. It was okay while DH and I were at home watching DD, but now that we are both working, he is so sad. I get the most pathetic little meows when I walk in the door. In typical fashion for us, as soon we are ready for another cat, one magically becomes available. DH's cw found a cat in their apartment complex that some ass decided to just leave when they moved out. He's apparently super friendly, chill, and orange. Hopefully the cats get along well, and he can tolerate a baby...
DS2 was wide awake from 10:30pm-2am. OMG. At one point he was insisting on playing with Playdoh. I was thisclose to letting him but then I snapped out of it and made him toss and turn in bed.

I'm wearing that shirt today too! It kind of accentuates my post baby pooch a bit but I still wear it often.
