I have wedding events this afternoon, so baby girl is at daycare today. I sent extra food and every cup we own, including a brand new $20+ water bottle, in the hopes that she will drink something today. Her new bottle is fancy and has a straw like Mommy's.
I still wonder if I should have sent my own water bottle. Anyone want to sit next to me at the Overthinker table?
I was so excited that today was Friday. BB was looking at me like "Momma, calm down. I don't even know what you're talking about"
Except it's a blah day of sorts - a close friend's father passed away and his wake is tonight so I will head there after work. MH will do pick up. It's his first time so we will see how it goes.

Your water bottle is only good when you are actually mid-drink.
It also makes lots of noise when she bangs it on the ground.
Neither of which are helpful in getting more fluids into her. Bleah.

DH and DS1 leave for a week-long vacation tomorrow. It's the longest I have been away from DS1 and I'm not excited about it. Especially because DS2 has been up 4+ times per night. I'm scared to do this on my own for a full week but it wasn't feasible for us to go to the beach and the house was booked over a year ago by DH's family. No way can the 4 of us be in one bedroom together. I'm bummed that everyone but DS2 and I are going though.
I love all the sales on school supplies. I bought crayons for 25 cents and markers for $1 yesterday. If I can't actually shop for "back to school" supplies, I'll at least restock our craft cabinet.
I WANT ALL THE THINGS.
Did anyone SEE Target's fun selection this year? Oh my gosh.
@bunnybean, our BFFs just recommended it to us! I'll try to shoe horn it in between Paw Patrol and screenings of the Music Man.
On that note, yesterday I played the Music Man soundtrack and DS marched to "76 trombones" throughout the house. He's torn on whether to be a ghost or the music man for Halloween.
I am back at work today after 4 days off. However it's Friday and I don't have too many meetings so I should be able to catch up easily. Tonight we will watch he opening of the olympics and tomorrow DH has a dive tournament so S and I are going on my aunts boat. Should be a good day!
Too busy feeding my kid breakfast to grab my own before work. I think I'll stop on the walk into my office, and make myself even later than I already am.
After saying that BB is a quiet sleeper in the cosleeping/room sharing thread yesterday she decided that 2-3 AM was a good time to start sleep talking. D'oh.
IKEA run this morning. Baking a toy story cake this afternoon/tonight for my bff's son's birthday party tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about the cake design. Lol. Also, Ella woke up at her normal 6/pre-6 am time and was quiet enough I didn't wake up. Usually she is screaming for me. So I didn't wake up until Lane came into my bed at 6:40! THEN the baby fell back asleep for another hour! WTF!? I'm actually a little nervous- she never does that.
We are going to Detroit for the weekend so DH can go to the driving experience I bought him for his birthday. Hopefully the kids do okay in the car for two hours. I'm looking forward to a fun weekend!
The girls' beds are being delivered tomorrow! I'm excited to get their room all set up but I'm nervous their sleep will go to shit. BUT, this also means no more bedtime shenanigans about having to go to the bathroom because I can tell them to go themselves!
I have a lot of bedding to wash today in preparation.
TV recommendation for people who need something new for their 2-5-year-old: Beat Bugs! It's on Netflix, and it builds each episode around a different Beatles song. I'm sure you guys have heard about it because it's been blowing up on the Internet, but it's adorable, and the music is of course great, because of The Beatles! C adores it and asks to hear "Beat Bugs" songs on my phone or to be sung before bed. Easy peasy!
I posted about this earlier in the duplicate thread! My kids love it and have been requesting the Beatles in the van. Super cute.

I can already tell it's going to be a long day. DS puked, we're getting a new roof and it's super noisy, my cat left a turd on the floor, and my IL's arrive this afternoon. Is it too early to start drinking?
Went out for drinks last night with former coworkers. Was so nice to get out and catch up with them! Definitely feeling those 2 for 1 drinks this morning though!
Have to go over to the inlaws today to claim our inheritance from H's grandmother's death.
Thankfully we'll be home in time for J's nap, then I'm going to a Sip n See at a bar with friends. I'm so gonna need a drink.
I took a personal day today. Despite waking up 5 times overnight (OMG - baby needs to stop learning new skills and growing teeth), I feel slightly better today re: my cold. But our dog is definitely not going to make it through until tomorrow, so I called my boss and told her that I'm submitting a PTO request for today so I can stay home with him. If he doesn't go on his own today, we're taking him in tonight. H slept in the garage with him last night because he couldn't bear to leave him alone and he won't move to come inside.
I explained to C that Hunter's body was not working well anymore and that he might die, so we should say goodbye before going to daycare. He was like, "Hunter won't die! We love him!"
H was up with ds1 from 10pm-midnight thanks to a spectacularly loud thunderstorm. Poor guy was shaking he was so scared. Ds2 slept through it - and for 6 hours straight!
My mom and sister got in town last night and are out running around with ds1. I'm snuggling on the couch with ds2. I see a nap in our near future.
I have next week off. We're going to Palm Beach and I can't wait. There's so much going on at work, I'm sure I'll regret it when I come back to a million unread emails, but I need this!

I'm officially on vacation! We're going to head down the cape for a few days. Then to New Hampshire. DS of course got a fever on Tuesday which is still lingering. Called the pedi and they think its viral as he has no other symptoms and is full of energy/ eating normal
Recent parenting wins that are brightening my day: - DD said "Mommy, I want to do pushups with you!" randomly the other night, so we did pushups and now I'm teaching her to plank - Yesterday she cleaned up her paw patroller before moving on to her play kitchen - Last night in the convenience store, she asked a lady if she could pet her dog. Apparently endless repetition DOES work,
Fucking camp exhausts her, I'm glad it's only 3 more weeks. I thought she would sleep well, but she sleeps the same and is just tired and cranky all the time. Parenting fail, I guess?
This is our first regular weekend (not traveling, no sick kids) since the end of June and I have no idea if we have any plans. I just know I need to shop for a dress for a wedding next weekend. Hope I can get away sans kids for a few hours at some point.
