My shoe rack collapsed and I'm so annoyed I need to spend the money to buy a new one since this one wasn't that old. But my shoes are currently in a huge pile in the closet which isn't going to work.
DH & I went to Dunkin Donuts this morning and I saw they have a frozen mint hot chocolate. I LOVE regular mint hot chocolate but I've never had a frozen version. Anyone tried this? I think I might have to get it next time.

We got an offer on our house yesterday, but it had a lot of strings. We countered with an equally obnoxious response. This process sucks. Good vibes please!
I'm arguing with my husband over google chat about a couple of trips he's taking later this month. both are causing childcare issues. the first one is for his fantasy football draft that he doesn't HAVE to go to (it's annoying to do it long-distance but it is possible and he has done so before) and the second is for his second job, a company retreat. that one WAS fine, except he changed the dates AFTER I had made my work schedule, so now we're scrambling for childcare that first day. so I'm annoyed and am putting it on him to work out childcare because it's his fault (or to be more accurate, his brother/partner's fault) that the dates were changed.
HoneySpider I haven't had one from DD but I've had a frozen Mint Condition from Caribou (it's mint, chocolate and coffee) and it's one of my favorites!
I'm exhausted today. I was up half the night stressing about finances. I figured out why my medical bills were higher than I thought - the deductible and OOP max DO stack and co-pays don't count towards it. Annoying. Oh well. I was looking at the back of the bill and it says for the minimum payment for a payment plan it's 10% of the balance. Um, I don't have an extra $400+ every month! Ugh. What are the chances of getting that lowered? I've never tried negotiating medical bills. I don't want to drain our savings and then some for this

I'm sorry estrellita. That really doesn't sound right to me. WRT lowering the payment, just tell them you can't afford it and they will usually work with you - I think as long as you pay something every month, there's not anything they can really do.

Can they send me to collections for not making a minimum payment? I don't want to screw with my credit over this

I don't think so, but it's been a while since I've tried to negotiate on a medical bill so I could be wrong.
wanderingenough I once countered with something super obnoxious....they shocked us and accepted! We closed on the sale of our house 30 days later. Good luck!!!
ETA: I think they were just trying to see how low we would go. Stupid on their part.
Daycare called and DD has the thrush on her tongue. I'm perplexed. I'm assuming I haven't cleaned her bottles as thoroughly as I should? Feeling like a sucky Mom
wanderingenough GL! pooh8402 Ugh I would be really annoyed too. estrellita I'm sorry you are stressing so much. From my experience I just tell them "I can only afford X amount" and I haven't had a problem with that. I hope that works for you. MrsMB You are an AWESOME mom. Don't ever think otherwise!!
G hasn't been feeling well today. I think she is just overtired from the weekend. I spent most of the morning on the couch with her laying on me. She is down for a nap now. I'm finally about to get in the shower! Hoping she takes a nice, long nap.

I think that they technically can, but typically won't. As long as you're willing to make some type of payment, and you follow through with the payments you commit to, they're usually really good about cutting you some slack on the payment amounts. Especially with larger than normal bills like yours. They usually have some sort of minimum payment recommendation for situations like that, like at least $100 a month or something.

OMG I just had a huge scare! I was in the living room when I heard this HUGE crash coming from the kitchen/front door. The cabinet that is built into the wall came crashing down! A ton of stuff went flying but by some miracle, a bunch of glass stuff in there (blender, mixing bowl, etc) somehow did not break. The cats' food dish cracked in half but I think that's it so far.
I called DH then called my landlord and then I realized I hadn't seen my older cat. I started to freak out because their food dish was pushed underneath there and if she was eating when it fell, she could easily have been under it. I was running around calling her name and crying and finally she came out. I am so relieved.
But seriously! If something can go wrong in this place apparently it's going to happen this week. (Obviously fixing it is not urgent but still a PITA to have to have the guy come out)
MrsMB and bk1 Hope the kiddos feel better soon !!! <3
estrellita Ugh, money stuff is the worst. When I had my hand surgery a few years back our hospital had this really cool program where you apply for financial aid (like a scholarship program) based on income, bills, debt etc etc I don't know if your hospital has anything like this. I hope you can negotiate! (Hugs)
Work is going by quickly which I'm thrilled about. I have to make my huge to do list this evening for my day off tomorrow. I'm putting lots of relaxing things on it too!
