It seems like today is telemarketing day...my phone at work has been ringing off the hook, and when they call they ask for the person in charge of the administrative responsibilities, ordering, fleet vehicles, etc. (this is me). This morning, someone called and I told them that it was Abby and she wasn't in right now (Abby is my boss' dog, who happened to be in my office and staring at me when I answered the phone). They said they'd call back. They just called back a minute ago and asked for Abby...I dissolved into laughter and considered putting the dog on the phone...

Stop calling me!!!
OMG, I get so many of these every day. So irritating. I usually get them off and tell them we aren't interested. But I did this with an electricity choice company and they kept calling back saying I had to talk to them. Um, no I don't take me off your list.

apalettepassion.wordpress.com/ WHO IS BONQUIQUI!?!?!?!??!
"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
Oh, I'm kind of a short jerk with them on the phone.
When it's clear it's a telemarketer, I just say, "I'm sorry, we're not interested. Please remove us from your list, thank you," and hang up.
We still get calls for our owner, who died like 7 years ago. When they ask if he's in, I tell them no, and if they ask if I expect them in any time soon, my response is, dear god, I hope not. LOL.
I had one a few years ago that called every day at 1PM wanting me to give him the information about our IT department, I'm not allowed to give out that information. He didn't believe me and started getting really nasty and said I was lying about not being able to give out the info. I changed the number to automatically forward to the Navy's Time voice announcement number. Coworker and I thought about forwarding it to one of the joke numbers, but figured we'd get in trouble.

We live in the house that DH's grandparents built. After they passed, we still got a ton of calls for them. DH told them that his grandparents had moved, and that he'd give them their forwarding information. He gave them the phone number to the cemetery.
Fucking with telemarketers is our favorite pasttime.

I got a call one day asking for Oliver. I said wrong number. Then she asked if this was the Whatever residence. I said no you have the wrong number and was about to hang up but she said 'I am sorry I don't have the wrong number I have the wrong name'. Whhhhhaaaat?
I was also told that if you start to say 'please taka me off your list' some will hang up on you before you finish talking. That way they can say they didn't hear you say it. I don't know how true it is but it has happened to me.
