I saw one that sat for a while and didn't sell by the time they aired the show.
Yeah, I've only ever seen one "flop" I've only watched two seasons though.
They did a special one time and it covered quite a few flops. I don't know why they don't show those on occasion. I've seen a handful of episodes where they have had to lower the price and the show ended with it still on the market.
I really can't stand them, though. I just like seeing the transformations.

I don't watch it. But, a friend from college was on it, and she said the furniture staging was the most fake part, because you don't get to keep it all (you can buy a lot of it though).
It's a tv show, of course it's scripted. You don't have to watch it to know that, and you can love it, even if it's scripted. Not sure why that makes me negative (especially since other posters have said the same thing).
Shit, I loved The Hills and Laguna Beach and that was 100% scripted.

I read this recently--an article about a house they did for a woman who photographed early seasons. It has a lot of behind-the-scenes information about the process. The people have already found their houses, and then they apply. And yes, most of the furniture is staging furniture, although the people can buy it.

I think the couple on Flip or Flop is worse at acting like it's unscripted lol. I enjoy Fixer Upper more. I do think it sucks that the owners can't keep all of the furniture/staging without purchasing it extra, but I am not surprised.
