Good morning. I'm sorry to announce that we won't be seeing Nathan Adrian anymore at this Olympics. Nor will we see those hot Italian swimmers from last night either.
The US finished the swimming in dominant fashion. Michael Phelps says he's not coming back, but didn't he say that in London too?
Mo Farah fell during the 10000m and still won gold. What does that say about all the other guys running? Slackers.
Finally, Usain Bolt won his first 100m heat in his sleep. Lots more track and field up today, including the women's marathon this morning.

Props to the women who medaled in the marathon, grabbed a flag and continued to.run around with it. I'd have my ass firmly planted on the ground for days after 26.2 miles!
Argh, I scrolled but missed this post. Sorry for calling you out Bob. You've been doing a bang up job with your Olympic coverage. Much better than NBC.
Speaking of NBC I'm reposting my rant here since I'm still annoyed with them.
NBC's coverage sucks so bad. Marathon is on now and the announcers were all "they're coming up on the 90* turn. I thought they'd find some way to soften it. We'll see how they do". So I'm all anxious to see if it impacts who is in the lead and what does the F'ing camera do? Switches to a helicopter shot that is pulling out and away from the runners so you can't see shit! Why?!?
And I previously bitched about who is producing this crap but then remembered that I have a connection to someone who is producing it. Wondering if I'd get a response if I posted this on FB? Hmmm.
My favorite thing so far is the basketball commentators being all "not to predict the future or anything, but the US women's team will be winning this game over China." There's also been a "it would take a miracle of all miracles for China to win." Refreshingly honest.
/pours one out for lack of Nathan Adrian in my living room. Let's hope he spectates a lot.
U.S. swimmer Ryan Lochte was robbed at gunpoint while in Rio de Janeiro overnight Saturday, NBC News has confirmed.
Following conflicting reports — including the IOC denying any incident took place — Lochte himself confirmed with NBC's Billy Bush that he and "three other swimmers" were robbed at gunpoint.
Lochte's mom had earlier told other news organizations that the robbery happened at a party.
"I think they're all shaken up. There were a few of them," Ileana Lochte told USA Today. "No, they were just, they just took their wallets and basically that was it."
USA Today and Fox Sports Australia both reported that the 32-year-old Lochte was robbed early Sunday while socializing the night after Olympic swimming events ended. The IOC spokesman denied the claim at first before hedging, acknowledging he didn't directly know the specifics of the situation.
Lochte swam in two events at the Rio Games, winning gold in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay.
This is a developing story, check back for updates
Anyone else find the synchronized swimming weirdly fascinating? No, just me?
Yes! Dh is mocking me but I love it. I seriously only pay attention to it during the olympics but I love watching it. Like trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics. lol
Olympic golf is a snoozefest. These same dudes are on tv every weekend. I really don't care who wins.
Golf is a snoozefest.
You're not wrong. H is really into it and at times I've watched along (or at least enjoyed rooting against bad-attitude Tiger) but now it just bores me again.

I am pretty sure that the feed is from the IOC and given to each network. There were a couple times that the Canadian commentators were frustrated because the feed changed and it blacked out a couple times on NBc and CBC. For whatever reason, the motorcycle guy stopped filming or had something weird to show.
My kids were just dying laughing while they watched synchro swim. Then they spent the entire rest of the day flicking their wrists/ankles, whipping their heads around and wiggling their legs every time they caught each other's eyes. Then they would fall on the floor laughing all over again. All. Day. Long. They did a synchro laundry folding routine. They did a synchro entrance down the stairs. They passed bowls at dinner with great flourish. My kids are 7 and 10 and synchro, quite honestly, might be the best thing that's ever happened to our family. I'm supposed to be making them gold medals right now that they earned for doing synchronized chores.

Can't wait for the 100m final. My kid asked me why I want the other country to win. I have no reason. But I really want Bolt to win. She seemed satisfied when I said that his name was Bolt so he had to win. I hope deGrasse is second
