Thanks to my thyroid, my hair has been falling out. I didn't notice how bad it was until the bald spots started growing back in. The front is definitely the worst part, right along my hairline and bangs area (I don't currently have bangs).
Has anyone dealt with hair loss? Did cutting your hair shorter help? I don't want to go pixie short again, but I'm feeling really self-conscious about how obvious the patches are in the front.
I had stress-related hair loss in college, and my hair is already fine and thin. I cut it to bob length with layers and changed my part for a while. Headbands also helped disguise the thinner area in front.
Interestingly, I don't have any issues with regrowth. As soon as it falls out, it starts growing back at the same pace as my hair usually grows. It just falls out in big enough patches that it's really obvious while it grows back out.
I think I keep forgetting how much more obvious it is when my hair is longer. I kept my hair short for long enough that I got used to not noticing. Now that I'm attempting to grow it out, I'm re-realizing why I cut it short in the first place.
After pregnancy most women experience dramatic hair thinning and I was not exempt. I got bald spots after M it was so bad. While I did cut it short for me (long for you) that was just to help the weight. I ignored it and kept it the way I loved overall. No bald spots this time but the most awful flyaways. Still trying to figure that out.
So I vote, keep it however you feel pretty and don't worry about it. I can't even notice in your picture.
I lost a bunch of hair postpartum too. Most of the thinning has been along my hairline. It's growing back now, so I have a bunch of little baby hairs along my hairline. I'm just like, meh.
I did cut my hair last December, but only because I just wanted to. It didn't have anything to do with hair loss or regrowth. I'm growing it back out now.
Ditto amaranth, just do what makes you feel pretty. I also can't see any thin spots or regrowth.
I think it looks fine, I wouldn't notice any thinning based on that photo. But I think you look great with short hair so I vote cut it! I recently cut mine shorter plus added bangs, and I love it.
Sorry, the picture is meant more to show what my hair style looks like right now rather than to show the regrowth. It's definitely noticeable in person, especially if I don't pin the front up (which I don't like doing every day because it hurts). I posted the picture as a starting point in case anyone had any ideas about a new haircut I could try that might let me style my hair without pins.
