What a bunch of ungrateful assholes we are today, lol.
I'll go... I am grateful for my rude assed, spoiled cats.
Mr. P left town for work yesterday and they have thrown me a bone and offered a few snuggles. It's almost like they sigh before doing it. One is like "Oh Christ, she's moping around again. You sit on her lap." Boy cat: "No, I did her last night, you let her fucking pet you this time."
I am a total chore for them. You know, because they are so busy being aloof jerks.
As expensive as my dogs are... I was walking them this morning and they were sniffing around a bush so I started thinking about how much we've been through and I got a little teary eyed. They got me through really hard times. I just wanted to snuggle them right there.

Aw Pom I'm sorry your cats are aloof. But you made me giggle. Thank you.
I'm thankful for my MM friends. You all are wonderful.
My fuzzy pup and my fiance are pretty great too.
My (just under knee high wide calf narrow ankle) boots (that took me almost 10 years to find) still fit and I'm wearing them today because of rain.
We think we picked a wedding vendor for when we elope. They do a whole package deal: ceremony, flowers, pictures, video, beach/location permits, etc. Between this and the dress being ordered I feel like I might get to relax some on the planning.

Yesterday our favorite baseball team was playing in our city, which only happens once every 4 years. One of DH's clients has season tickets and gave us his tix for the game. They were great seats, we had an awesome time and it was free (except for parking and food)!
The baby started daycare this week. I feel like daycares in my city are awful and toured some scary ones. We were on the waiting list for this one and got a spot. It still didn't seem as good as the daycares in our old state, but so far it it is going great. Everyone is super nice, they seem to love the baby and he seems to really like it there, happy at dropoff and pickup. That is a huge relief!
This morning I got all teary eyed thinking about how awesome part of my commute is. There's a lot of land with horses, mini goats, and cows. It's just so beautiful and it makes me smile every morning.

explorer2001, did you post your dress? I wanna see! Yay for booking things.
I'm thankful for my life and the wonderful people in it.
And my dog. That little dude makes every day so great. This morning we were in the elevator and I began scratching his ears so he rolled over to his back so I could rub his tummy. In the elevator. And then we did it again in the hall. He's just so sweet.
I may complain about things, but I know I am very lucky. I have a great husband, an adorable baby, a loving family, a wonderful group of friends, a great job and coworkers (even the one I complain about), and a stable financial life. I've been trying to be more mindful of the good in my life since I seem to stress and get hung up on things that don't really matter in the end.
And I am very thankful for the MM and MMM communities. You ladies truly are wonderful. (And if you're a creepy lurker, stop lurking and start posting!)

Sorry, but I have a dog related one too. Arrow really struggled with puppy daycare initially. I just dropped her off for the afternoon and she's doing great. When we turned onto the street the daycare is on she started her happy yipping. She gladly ran to the daycare guy.

Omg that's so adorable. I love when my dog makes his happy whine/cry noise when I come home. It's the BEST part of my day. It's like they are so happy that their tiny bodies cannot contain it.

My husband kicks ass. I have heard from so many of my family members how helpful an welcoming he was at the wedding (everything from helping my uncle park the cars to getting luggage up to hotel rooms to entertaining the kids while waiting for pictures.). We don't see my family in WI much, so no one really knows him that well. Now they all like him better than me. 😥😥😥😥

dreamcrisp1irene adler No dress pictures yet. It's ordered, not here. Maybe when it comes in.
Unlike dreamcrisp1 who is thin and stunning and looked amazing in the dress pics she shared, I'm a 16 in wedding dresses so the sample 10 was not going to close and that's not going on the internet. Plus I picked a simple, chiffon bridesmaid dress, nothing like the drama and gorgeous of dreamcrisp1's dress. But it should be a good dress for a beach wedding and our budget is pretty small. Hey at least it was MM. $320 for dress and veil.

@foodielicious, I WILL be asking for your recipes come this fall. Did you use a particular turkey recipe? I swear I'd read like 6-7 different strategies from several recommended by Cookes, to Thomas Keller, Martha Stewart, etc.
My favorite Thanksgiving strategy has been to make tons of delicious, reduced stock 4-6 weeks in advance using turkey parts (e.g., necks, wings). Then I heat it on Thanksgiving for basting and flavoring everything and make the gravy w/it too.
On that topic, DH asked this morning if we (really, I) should host Thanksgiving (that's about 20+ people). Um, I'm having a baby ~4-5 weeks prior. NO.

explorer2001, stop! That dress is gorgeous and you will look stunning in it. I can't wait to see pictures! It is beyond perfect for your amazing beach wedding. Also I'm crazy jealous about your beach wedding because that's what I wanted. And aren't you tall? World of difference!

Did you end up switching puppy daycares? Sorry if you've already updated--my brain has been mush lately.
explorer2001 Shhh. Don't compare yourself or your wedding to anyone else's. I'm sure you'll look great and that your wedding will be perfect.

explorer2001, that was my bridesmaid dress for my SIL's wedding! It is comfortable and hides a multitude of sins (should you need it)! Love it!
My thankful is that the DMV only took 2 hours today and that my MIL is here and stayed home with the kids. And that we have the money to replace our moldy AC unit rather than put our kids' health at risk.

explorer2001,That's a beautiful dress and you will look amazing!
steph96, I tried the new daycare and they basically kicked us out. They said Arrow didn't know her name and wouldn't come when she was called. Well, she was in a new place with new people and was busy playing in the pool, so no, I can't blame her for not coming. So she's at her original daycare and they've worked really hard with her and have found her a bff, which helps a lot.

Thankful for this community. I've received a lot of support and PM the last few weeks. Thank you.
I'm so grateful for everything in my life. From my car (I've had it 4 years and it's been stolen, repoed, and t-boned), where I live (a room opened out of the blue + I have my own bathroom for the first time in 3+ years), my job (that I created off my strengths and zones of genius), my friends, my family, and myself.

Aw you're so sweet. I know we'll enjoy our beach wedding. But it still hurts that we can't get married surrounded by loving supportive family and friends. There are a lot pf reasons for it (money because we're paying ourselves, family drama, etc). I guess it's a case of the grass is always greener, but I'm totally jealous of your huge wedding of people who love you and support you (you know if it came with the cost and logistics and all )
As for tall - I guess that depends on who you ask. My 6'5" finance jokes that I'm a shirmp. My mom's family (most women under 5'2" several under 5' even) call me a giant. I'm 5'6" so a little bit above statistical average but not much. Plus beach = barefoot so no killer heals to help with the height.

100% understandable. But Maui will be amazing and your pictures - gorgeous. I am sure it's hard but it really is grass is greener and all that. I have to deal with people drama, seating charts, inviting people because they will invite us to their wedding, and the cost. Our venue has doubled in price with the guest list. Doubled! But always remember - family isn't always everything. I'm sure you have amazing friends who love and adore you and can't wait to celebrate you when you return. And us MMers as well. We would 100% crash a friends reception. The airport is a 15 minute walk from me and I'm pretty sure I know your state so I can be there asap!
I'm barely 5'1.5 (must count the .5) so 5'6 is tall to me!
