Please dont flame....
I just lost it on my cat and put her outside (she is an indoor cat). Pretty sure H already brought her back inside but I secretly was hoping she wouldn't come back.
She is a basketcase and always has been. We have her on prozac with improvement but not total resolution. She pees and poops outside the box on a weekly basis.
She just pooped outside the box while DS was being particularly heinous and I just could not deal.
I am at the absolute end of what I can take of her but idk what to do anymore.

Poor cat trust me, I feel you on the cat frustrations. We have one that pukes all the time and pees on things. It's infuriating. But I'd never do that to him. He's still my baby, even if I hate him a lot of the time!
Please find her another home if you really can't deal with her. Don't just put her outside to fend for herself
No flames. Our youngest dog pushes me to that point from time to time. She needs Prozac since everything else has failed but we just haven't been back to the vet yet.

estrellita I wasnt leaving her out there forever. I think if she went outside some it would help but H is against it. One of our neighbor's cats stopped peeing on things when they started letting her out.
H immediately went and got her. She is currently confined to the basement so we can both cool off.
No plans on what to do yet. I have seriously considered rehoming but I think she would be worse elsewhere. This is how she has always been. We have done EVERYTHING to try to make her happy. We have done retraining to the litter box, water additives, feelaway, special litter, litter additives....you name it we have tried it. I feel terrible for her, I really do because she is so unhappy.
We have had her checked by a vet multiple times over the past 12 months as things have worsened and no medical diagnosis/cause has been found.

I thought things got bad because DS was sick for a while and we had a lot of drs. Appts and were sometimes out of the house for long periods of times because of all the stuff we were doing for DS. That has settled down now and has been better for...at least 3 months and she has been on prozac for 2 months but we are still struggling.
No flames here. We've done the same. We have dogs, and a fenced backyard, but we've done the same. We've been so frustrated with our dogs over the past year.

But if she's not an outdoor cat, she'd have no idea what to do. Could you do an enclosed area like a fenced in dog kennel? I'm not sure if I'm explaining that right. But then she could be outside without potentially getting hurt or lost.

estrellita she was an outside cat before we had her (she lived outside for an unknown amount of time...we rescued her). We are currently reinvestigating litter box training using a cage because we are reading that is more successful.
