Go and PIP your kitchen and/or dining room table(s). Exactly as they are - no cheating and cleaning up first.
ETA - If you don't have any table(s) ... PIP wherever it is you eat when you're at home.
Here's mine. Note the lovely arrangement we've been forced into thanks to our tiny rental: who doesn't enjoy sitting down to a beautiful, yummy dinner while staring at a microwave?
1) Cover letter guide book - the best EVER - seriously, such good examples! You can get it used for $1 on Amazon. I have job applications to finish over the weekend. 2) HOA covenants, as you are chatting with the newly elected HOA president 3) HOA notes 4) Phone book to call insurance agents for HOA insurance quotes
Lemme tell ya, creating an HOA out of thin air is HARD work! We just took over from the developer and there's nothing done - no bank account, no tax ID, no by-laws... Good thing I'm only taking 12 hours this semester - this is a job in itself!
And yep, sitting in the dark again since the heat index is 109°. It's supposed to be SEVENTY EIGHT tomorrow! And the peasants rejoiced.
- sketchy Photo Booth shot for ya! - the kitchen table is probably the cleanest surface in the house right now. - i need a set of kitchen chairs, like, yesterday. i've been running with various mismatched looks for 2 years hoping to find something decent. this needs to end soon.
No pictures for me, but I want to play anyway. My dining table is a black oval, with the leaf in, pedestal table from World Market. Nothing special, though there is quite a scratch in it from moving with the exH. And no pictures because it is currently in storage in more than one piece.

I can't even express, again, how happy I am to be at work today. There is a pile of crap on my table. Well, one pile is probably a severe underestimation. Off hand, I know there is one banana, a container that has like 2 donut holes left, a bag of special cat food, a Coca-Cola sign I have forgotten to give my SIL like 3 times, school homework from DS that if I don't toss soon I'll hoard like my mom did and a box from Similac with sample formula that I have to do something with.
I'm sure there's like 3x more stuff on there I've forgotten about.
The bumbo, my son's papers from school and my kindle are sitting on the table because our apartment is so small there is no floor or other counter space for them. You can also see what I like to call "box mountain" in the back. Those are the boxes that I won't unpack while we live here because again, we have no space. Yeah for tiny apartments.

Ours always looks like this, although most of the time my husband moves the candle holder off because the girls want to play with it during every meal. I can't wait till they're a little bit older and I can decorate surfaces lower than four feet in our house! It has forced us to declutter, because everything's fair game to them.
I usually lurk, but I like this game. Only I don't have photos of my table at work This is what they look like but you'll have to picture the table covered in placemats and mail with my living room side chair and end table shoved into the dining space too. My project for this weekend is to finish painting the living room and put everything back so we can eat at a table again. My chairs match with a cream colored upholstered seat.
Mrs. J I freaking LOOOOOVVVVEEE your table and Chairs. LOVE. I'm jealous.
Aw, thanks. It was my grandparents'. Technically, the table is about 20 years older than the chairs, I'm missing 1 chair out of the set, and the whole thing's been repainted more times than I can count, but I love it.
Not too bad. Napkins (I can't find a napkin holder I like), my daughter's jewlery box, and some paper stencils. Note the boxes in the corner - these have my cookbooks in them and have been sitting there since we moved in 4 months ago. I really need to find somewhere to put them!
Here is our dining room table. I stole the pic from the blog but it is how it looks all the time. Now our kitchen table does look messy sometimes but I'm too lazy to get up and take a pic of it.
