My gym bag eye routine for a while now has just been to smear on some ColourPop Hanky panky and call it a day. (with mascara) It's basically invisible - like a "my lids but better" shade.
I'd like to step it up a hair with something slightly more visible.
I've fallen out of love with my various cream shadows - ulta color coat and maybelline color tattoo. I just can't get them to go on smoothly - they're all patchy and shit. Possibly because they're like years old and need to be replaced, but whatever. Dont' want to right now.
Ideally I'd like something like WnW walking on eggshells - physically compact, budget friendly for when I inevitably break it by throwing the bag around - but I'd like it to be matte. Or at least partially matte.
Might pick up the bite multistick based on ESF's FOTD pic with it, but it's not ideal for eyes so...no? I dunno. Maybe. Not as my standalone solution anyway.
I still love the colourpop formula - so this is really two questions - 1. Does anybody have a suggestion for a favorite small and durable neutral duo/trio/quad with at least some mattes 2. Alternatively - suggestions for good base/transition colors from colourpop? I have a hard time with their website and how the colors translate on me IRL. I didn't expect Hanky Panky to be so invisible. Maybe To A-T? Cornelius? Or Bandit? Anybody have one of those?
Maybe bigger than your looking for but what about the Too Faced Natural Matte Eyes I think it's called. It's one of their 9 pan palettes.
yeah, I suspect that's bigger than will work for me. I need my whole face, including skincare, to fit in one bag. And when I say bag - think like Ulta GWP sized bag, not like a traincase.
I'm not even sure the coastal hotpot 4-hole thingy will work - Also it works out to like $12 once you put a whole thing together. hmmm...

Naked Basics is my go to travel matte palette. I can do so much with that little palette, and the hard case stands up well. I even use it for my brows.

If you wanted to do a single, Buxom has some nice matte shades and single cases for them for that you can put together for like $14 total, IIRC. Maybe Spoiled Sexy?
The nice thing about the Buxom singles is that they're easily removable, too. You could put together a custom palette with six shades for $40, buy a couple of the single cases for $2 a pop, and you can swap the shades in and out of the single cases.

I second this. I swirl my brush in the three light colors (one has shimmer but when mixed with the mattes it just gives a brightening effect). I use the light brown ( I think it's called naked) in my crease and on my brows. And the dark brown to deepen the crease. I rarely use the black because I prefer liquid liner but it's nice to have.

This is a good suggestion. I think the color Mink Magnet would be a great single color choice, but it is shimmery. It's a very pretty pinky neutral.
I was in Walgreens and decided to peruse the makeup section (of course). turns out WnW has one of their little 5 pans (the naked truth) that's basically exactly what I wanted. (at least some mattes, all neutral, cheap, small)
I just couldn't bring myself to spend more than $10 on something that will be banged around in my gym bag day in and day out, and likely not last 6 months before getting broken.
I might still pick up one of the little coastal interchangable thingies, but for now this works for my needs.
