1. School me on overnight diapers. DD is 15 months and she's wearing size 3 Swaddlers during the day. At night we've been putting her in size 4 Huggies (got on sale). That was working great, but lately they are SO full. H said they leaked the other day, her leg was wet. I've never bought overnight diapers. I went to Target and was totally overwhelmed! I couldn't figure out what to get. Help?
2. Toddler food: when did you stop worrying about sugar and stuff? DD has gotten really picky, so we've started buying more processed food in a desperate attempt to get her to eat. I bought animal crackers, gold fish (whole wheat at least!), and some other stuff. I was on a playdate and mentioned feeding her the YoBaby yogurt and the other mom went on and on about the added sugar. Seriously? I guess that was more of a vent than a question. But tell me it okay to feed DD crap. Better than her not eating, right?
1. Huggies overnights or pampers extra protection up a size.
2. Yeah I mean we just try to keep it under control. If the yogurt bothers you you could do plain whole milk yogurt and add in fruit or some cinnamon. That's what we did (mostly so we didn't buy more than one kind bc h and I eat plain) and ds1 still likes plain.
1. I've used pampers baby dry for overnight since he was like 7 months old. He wears size 4 in swaddlers and baby dry.
2. E is 13 months and eh, like PP said, I try to keep it under control. I know me, and I know I'm not going to make the effort to doctor up plain yogurt, so I bought the YoBaby yogurt since it had the last amount of sugar. I just made the switch to the Stonyfield (same brand as the YoBaby) yogurt pouch so that he can take it to daycare. I do try to give him homemade food and fresh fruits and veggies whenever possible, but sometimes convenience trumps "omg INGREDIENTS!!!!!11!!" He eats graham crackers, goldfish, puffs, yogurt melts, etc for snacks, and I try to make sure his meals are less processed. He still eats much better than DH and I do.
We use honest overnights sized up, I get them in the bundle but I see them at target too. Once I switched to those I didn't have any nighttime leaks anymore.
I try and not worry about sugar, Stella eats yobaby often and eats a lot of fruit. I think you do what you can. Don't worry about the yogurt judgey mom.
Speaking of kid food, when do you make the move to stage 2 baby food?
As soon as I determined that he wasn't reacting to the ingredients in the stage 2. For example, a stage 1 food is a single ingredient, right? So I may have tried apples, peaches and bananas as single ingredient stage 1 foods, and ruled out any reaction. Then there might be a combination stage 2 food that has apples/peaches/banana. I would go ahead and start that. The texture is usually the same.
We use Pampers Baby Dry for night, since around 6 or 7 months. At first she wore a 2 in swaddlers and 3 in baby dry, now she's in 3 for both. Could size up, but they work and we have a ton in this size. Never leaks.
We do the Stonyfield yogurt also, and I really don't see the big deal. I'm not feeding DD lots of it, she has like half a pouch a day? We also sometimes do goldfish or animal crackers, but most meals are homemade and not a lot of processed food. I'm happy if she gets in most of her food groups, and I think she's just fine. Like pooh8402, she eats better than we do!
Speaking of kid food, when do you make the move to stage 2 baby food?
As long as you aren't introducing more than 1 new food at a time (like the single ingredient foods), go for it. We started doing it within a month so that DD would get to try a bigger variety of flavors. Texture is the same as stage 1.
We also sometimes mixed in rice/oatmeal to the puree to thicken and add nutrients.
We use huggies overnight in one size up and they've been fabulous (we're pampers people for daytime). And I buy tubs of Stonyfield vanilla which our toddler loves. She only eats maybe 4oz in a sitting at the most so I don't worry about the sugar.
Oh, I have a question. Any tips on side-lying nursing for MOTN feedings? I never figured it out with DD1 (she was a pretty messy nurser) but I've been trying with DD2 (4 mo). I don't really want to have to move her, so I've been kind of bending my boob to reach her, but it's a little uncomfortable bc they're pretty full. Any advice?

I have smaller breasts (32C prepregnancy, 34C-D when nursing) and when side-lying nursing, I wasn't able to nurse on the higher side when full, or when E was that young/little. for example, if I was laying on my left side, I couldn't nurse my right, because it didn't reach. I would hug him to my chest and roll over. I can do it now, since my breasts are softer and E is bigger.
I did a lot of side-lying nursing MOTN at that age since we were bedsharing at the time and believe me, I didn't want to be rolling back and forth. So I get it. That was just how I made it work.

Did your newborn snack? Is it a phase? L has been eating every 45 -60 minutes all day this week and it's killing my nipples. She's an efficient nurser and only takes about 8 minutes per side, but she's been refusing the second side only to want to eat again really quickly. I thought she'd start to be stretching out feelings at this point?
lifetaketwo, yes. I pretty much had a baby constantly on the boob for the first 8 weeks or so. it's normal. I just made myself comfy on the couch with remote, water and snacks within arm's reach. your baby is 5 weeks old, right? should be coming up on the 6 week growth spurt.

pooh8402, 6 weeks yesterday! Good to know, people were telling me now is when they'd start to space, but I was thinking more like 8 weeks. They were also telling me I was creating bad habits, but she seems too young for that.

fwiw, E was nursing every 1-1.5 hours until he was like 6 or 7 months old, when he started getting solids 3x/day. it's not a bad habit, it's just how he ate. he grew appropriately, I always had enough milk for him, and he was an okay sleeper after we sleep trained him.

I sort of just ignored the stages thing. No one in my family has a history of allergies, so I wasn't really worried about it.
Not trying to be alarmist, but we have zero family history of allergies, and my DD has food allergies. I actually wasn't worried either and wasn't strict about following the stages thing.
