Friends are expecting their first baby next week. They're not big on cooking but they have a crockpot. I want to assemble some meals in Ziplocks so that they can just dump the bag in the crockpot and turn it on, or freeze the bag until they want it.
Any good tried-and-true recipes? I don't use ours all that often, but my favorite is a beef roast + a can of whole berry cranberry sauce + a shot of soy sauce. I saw that popular chicken tortilla soup recipe floating around but I've never tried it, so I may do a test run for us before I bring it to them. I've been browsing the Crockpot 365 blog, too.
The mom said she was browsing for some recipes online and the only things that sounded appetizing to her were Mexican meals. And the dad doesn't eat cheese.
Just wondering if you have others your family loves, specifically Mexican recipes. TIA.
I'll bookmark these for the future so I can try them myself before I give them away ... especially since I'm sure people may not be bringing them meals after the first few weeks.
