How's it going? Got any good plans for the weekend?
I finally get my hair cut and colored this weekend and I'm looking forward to it with enthusiasm. I need it so badly. Stupid swimming pools with chlorine.
Otherwise, we'll just be moving stuff into the shed.

It's our field hockey club day tomorrow, so I'll be playing in small co-ed games from noon to around 4ish and then we go to our clubhouse for bbq and drinks. Can't wait. Sunday, we'll meet with our contractor to talk through the remaining work, look at outstanding balances, etc.
The weekend better shape up better than Friday has so far.
Today we have called the cable company three times so far. DH put in an order a couple of days ago for service for his office. It was supposed to be completely separate from what we have coming into the house, but somehow the person putting the order in screwed things up and we lost cable completely that night. We got that back on, but they didn't give us back dvr so I called this morning to get that straightened out. Got that taken care of, but found out about the mix up in the order not being separate, so DH called to get his office order separated from the house account, seemed to get all of that straightened out, then our internet went out. We unplugged, rebooted, etc., and got the internet back, and when the TV came back on it was trying to get me to activate our box, like it was a new account, so now I am on the phone while they figure it all out.
DH is grumpy and is ready to quit them, but really, it has been a great company until this...much better than our last one. The TV not working affects me much more than him...it looks like it won't be back on for a couple of hours, so I will put in a mindless DVD to pass the time.
Dealing with the dog afraid of thunder and rain early this morning was the easiest part of my day so far. I think the rest of the weekend is supposed to be wind, rain and thunder, so yea...more fun.
I do have to say though, getting a whole house backup generator was money well spent. The power has been out in our neighborhood a couple of times this week, for an hour or so each time, and our lives were not interrupted in any way.
I think the rest of the weekend will be working on getting DH's tools organized and getting things ready to sell at the neighbor's yard sale next week. She postponed because of Hermine.
mrs.jacinthe, I am jealous of the hair cut and color. I haven't found anyone here to cut my hair (or even seen anyone with curly hair that I liked enough to ask where they got their hair cut). I usually cut it myself, but I wanted a change so I was trying to let it grow out a bit and let someone else do it. I am at that point where I can't stand it and am about to take a razor to it though, and am trying to leave it alone.lol I had planned to color it this morning, but life got in the way and now I am not in the mood.
Maybe some kitchen therapy will lift some spirits. I had been planning to bake lemon squares, and I might put together a couple of meals for the fridge/freezer for lazy days.

I'm working today while DH took the girls to the zoo. This weekend I want to purge their clothes and organize their school uniforms. I want to put shelves in DD1's closet and I'd LOVE to get the shelves up in the hallway too for toys. We also got a reel for our pool solar cover that we have to assemble and install.
Ditching work early and heading to a rooftop bar-- it's finally not a thousand degrees outside! Tomorrow we're tubing a river and then going to a party at our friends' house, probably will crash there. Brunch and hiking on Sunday. Monday Funday complete with slip-n-slide and margaritas.
County cancelled school at 8pm last night (fine), all we got of Hermine was a lot of rain and some light wind. I woke up before 6am when our power went out, the sound of the fan going off and the light on the router's back-up coming on wake me up every time. 10 minutes later, DH decided it was a good idea to go outside and see who else was out (he always does this and can't explain why- we can only report ourselves!) and tripped over something in the dark and said "ow"- which resulted in dogs barking and the kids waking up. So it has been a looong day. But, hey, I don't have to water my pots or baby trees.
I'm going home from work to be greeted by my ILs. Ugh.
I think I'm going to the liquor store to pick up some beer on the way home. There's only 1 bottle left of stuff I enjoy drinking and I'm going to need more than that to get through to Tuesday gracefully.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere....here! I think tonight is a gin and tonic night.
It took 5 hours, (and multiple phone calls/numerous customer service reps) from when the cable customer people told me that I would have TV restored in 1-2 hours to when it finally got straightened out. Once I finally got a picture and made sure the dvr worked and got off the phone, I realized that I had no HD channels and had to call back again. I think between DH and I, we talked to 8 or 9 people there today. A couple of the calls I had two different people, but I am worn out from repeating the whole stupid backstory and giving everyone the same information to access the account, and being pleasant to the customer support people through it all. I'm not grumpy or anything, but I don't think I have the energy to be super cheery tonight.
LOL! DH just walked in and said "I'm guessing you will want a gin and tonic tonight." It is particularly funny to me because I hardly ever have anything to drink so he usually has a glass of red wine.
