Does anyone have a house cleaning schedule they use/like? I need to get into a better routine. I'd also like to figure out a few chores that W can easily help with. I've seen lots of different ideas on Pinterest, but would like to hear some real-life feedback too.
Not really a schedule but I vacuum once a day (also bleach/wipe down the kitchen and bathrooms daily as needed) and then I deep clean the entire house every Sunday.
The chores the boys do is wipe the baseboards, clean the sliding glass window (I spray the glass cleaner, they wipe), clean the media center (I spray pledge and they wipe it down) and empty the dishwasher.
Wait till something is dirty enough that it bugs me, then clean it up.
(It's not working very well!)
We use this method too. And probably will continue to until we budget for a housecleaner again...there's not enough time in the day for weekly, much less daily, cleaning.

I need a house keeper! I hate cleaning, or at least I hate cleaning when nothing ever stays clean. I tried to do one of the daily type schedules but honestly I would rather spend one full day cleaning everything and at least have my whole house clean at once, a room a day wasn't for me.
So basically, no schedule, I try to hit the whole house each weekend and then daily stuff in between.

I pick up as I go throughout the day. Every day the beds get made, clothes out away, kitchen wiped down after use, kitchen floor gets mopped after lunch, bathrooms wiped down also, laundry (if any) gets put away after I fold it.
2x a month I have cleaners who come and deep clean the whole house.
I find that if I stay on top of all the little messes, they won't become big messss and everything stays as tidy as possible.
my schedule - run laundry through as it gets dirty, allow clean laundry to accumulate in a pile in the bedroom, fold everything the night before the cleaning ladies come, half the time let kids clothes sit in baskets upstairs while folded until they transform into dirty laundry again, repeat
Really I don't let things sit around dirty (clothes or dishes), and pick up clutter when it gets to be too much or someone is coming over. I really am itching for a good purge of everything.

We keep the house picked up each day for the most part. There are some toys around that I let go.
It's not really a schedule, but we clean the whole house every 3-4 weeks. H cleans the kitchen, dusts, and does half the vacuuming. I clean the bathrooms, kitchen/dining/laundry floors (tile). I do some vacuuming.
In between cleans I wipe down the bathrooms with Clorox wipes and we sweep the kitchen if needed.
Someday, I will hire this out. I am really picky, so it's unlikely I will be satisfied by someone else cleaning, but I like to believe there is someone out there that will be as picky as me.
ETA: DD likes to help, so I will let her help fold laundry. She will help me put away the kids' laundry, too. We make them clean up the toy room about once a week. (Otherwise there is usually stuff left out, but it's a playroom so I don't care.)

Follow cleanmama on Instagram! I love her posts/schedule/blog. I was pretty good about following it until I switched to working mornings. Now I have zero energy when I get home in the afternoons. Oops.

Oh and as far as child chores here are some things Peyton does Feed the cat Distribute back up toilet paper rolls to all bathrooms (we have little stands) *help* empty dishwasher Take empty boxes, cans, jars, etc to the recycle bin in the garage Helps sort the dirty laundry to be washed Helps transfer clothes from washer to dryer Folds small towels She puts away all the clothes that go in her dresser (socks, undies, shorts, skirts, pjs)
I don't have a schedule for myself, but the boys have a schedule. Some of the things Charlie does is: gather all of the trashcans from the bathrooms and bedrooms and empty them, wash windows, glass doors, mirrors. Sort laundry (colors and whites), match socks, clorox wipe down bathrooms, take all the toys that are downstairs up to the playroom..etc.
