There's a whole lot of drama going on locally on my FB because a festival uninvited a "promiscuous" food truck.
Let's say the taco truck is called "Eat Becky's Taco" (it isn't that exactly but want to try to keep it a smidge anonymous. It is very close to this though). The logo on the food truck is a woman riding a taco between her legs.
Additional facts: The festival initially invited the truck, then uninvited them. They bill their festival as "family friendly." It is to raise money for charity. The offending food truck recently (like a week ago) participated in another charity event in town.
What say you? Most people on my FB are angry they were uninvited and boycotting the festival. A few agree with the decision saying it's too provocative for a family-friendly event.
I doubt anyone in my city would bat an eye at a "promiscuous" taco truck, lol. But both sides need to chill. It's the festival's prerogative to uninvite them if they're afraid of offending people.

My only issue with it is that I don't get why they were invited in the first place. They did not change their logo or name since being invited. I think it would have been best if the festival just never invited them if they thought it wouldn't be appropriate. So I can understand being frustrated (ETA on the taco truck's behalf) that they are uninvited on short notice (the festival is soon but I don't want to post the exact date for, again, a bit of anonymity).
I do not know the politics of the people getting upset--they aren't personal friends of mine, just many commenters on local news pages and newspapers that I follow on FB. Plus I said I was "interested" in the event on FB so now I see every post made to the page and there have probably been 50+ in the last 24 hours regarding this topic.
ETA: The truck is actually being pretty cool about it. They posted that they were thankful for all their fans' support but that they still want people to attend the festival and support charity.
We have a Baby's Bad Ass Burgers. They have magnetic cover ups to change it just to "Baby's Burgers" for family friendly events. Someone needs to get it together.
I know what you're talking about because it showed up on my feed today too. It seems they should have known the name and logo long before this and I can see why people are upset they pulled them at the last minute.

And I totally agree there is no way the truck didn't mean it the way it comes across. Absolutely they did and they shouldn't be surprised if some events don't want them there. I agree with maybe having something they could use to cover up the logo for certain events. I was just surprised they got invited in the first place since just hearing the name immediately made my mind go there.
Pink's Taco did come to mind too as I read this. Is their logo provocative also? I have never been to a Pink's before.

I'd probably eat there at least once.
I don't blame the event for uninviting them. I'm guessing they (the organizers) didn't catch the innuendo and someone pointed it out. I can see why they wouldn't want it at a family event.

EAT TACO
I was thinking "Becky's Taco" but that really isn't any better, is it?
