Yesterday part of my front tooth randomly chipped off. Ugh. I wasn't eating or anything. I got hit in the mouth with a baseball bat when I was little and this tooth has always been a little thin at the bottom since. It's not that noticeable, but it is irritating. Dentist can't get me in until Thursday afternoon!
We have been doing some storage projects which have really helped our clutter/organization and therefore my sanity. I built shelves for my DD1's closet and installed a battery LED light on the ceiling. (It is motion sensitive and really works!) Her room is so much easier to keep clean since. The upstairs hallway is also SO much better since we installed the tube skylights! We put shelves up in the hallway and the girls have been playing like crazy there. Getting all the toys there is also allowing me to make the rear bedroom a legit guestroom. My parents are coming this weekend and bringing me a full size mattress set!
The room is long and narrow and I'd like to do a wall-mounted thing headboard. Any ideas? I could just get a fabric-covered headboard, but they are all a bit traditional for my taste. Anyone seen anything cool? Wood? Paint?

Love it!
I've been struggling with exhaustion the last couple weeks and finally figured out it's because I switched to taking my IR meds first thing in the morning instead of before bed. Low blood sugar will do that for you. *sigh*
I was all set to clean out the guestroom this weekend and post all the pictures but then remembered FIL is coming next month. So I have to leave it as-is until then. FIL's cousin is tagging along, so we have to clean out the garage as well. I don't even want to think about it. As usual, it's stuffed with leftover furniture I'm going to have to either sell or donate, and the dog detritus and exercise equipment is everywhere.
My 20-week scan is this afternoon. Assuming all goes well, I'm off today, so I've set a goal of (1) drafting a co-worker e-mail, (2) drafting a neighbor/friend e-mail, and (3) writing a script for talking with my mother and my sister.
good luck at your scan! I can't remember, are you finding out the sex?
My DH has always loved that wood slotted headboard from ikea. idk about it in that room. I actually like this one, even though I said I didn't like the fabric ones. Probably because I like color. I might wait until they bring the mattress and see it all in place to decide what will look right. I'll post photos.
I've got a cold and stayed home yesterday in hopes of feeling better. I took a 3 hour nap that helped temporarily, but I'm still dragging today. Wish I had enough paid time off to stay home again, but this is what I get for using PTO for maternity leave.
I barely touched the long list of stuff I want to do around the house when I have days off, so that was kind of sad. I got to the point of cleaning all the 0-3 month clothes that don't fit DD2 anymore into piles of recycle/donate/sell but didn't actually manage to do anything but put the piles in the closet and unpack the next size. So I now have a bigger mess than when I started. Whoops.

I just had someone come to my house and ask that since I'm selling my house, he was wondering if I was selling any antiques. I do have a fair amount of antiques. I'm kind of wondering if I was being cased? I'm creeped out by having some random at my door!

bunnymendelbaum, can you share what light you found for the closet? Im looking to do something similar for our bedroom closet. I bought a small light that doesn't trigger very easily, so I think I'd like to try something else.
I'm thinking of hiring a housecleaner. Probably shouldn't be a big deal, but it feels like it to me! H got a good job and he's never pulled his weight when it comes to cleaning, so I feel like just getting someone to help would take that stress out of our relationship.
Not done with the nursery. I hope to paint this weekend. I'm wearing my respirator mask and just taking my time.

pitterwoo, we're so close to the end!! - I've done tons of painting recently, just make sure to open a window or have a fan going, no biggie. I even used paint thinner on my dresser project - doc said it was fine if I was outside (there was a nice breeze too). I'm pulling out my nail gun one last time to tack one a piece of molding in my basement. I'd like to wrap our lally columns too, but I need to focus on finishing other things before starting a new project. This is how H&G nests
bunnymendelbaum, were you touting solar tubes in OPs? My SIL just bought a house and they're thinking of adding giant skylights to the formal living room (they have a few in the kitchen). I'm not anti sky light, but they definitely have a certain look on the interior and exterior. I told SIL to consider solar tubes if they want something effective but a little more discrete. Any other upside/downside I should consider sharing w/SIL? The house has a brand new roof - not sure if it's good/bad to cut into it w/sky lights (I guess they'd be doing that w/solar tubes too).
simpsongal, well, the solar tube look like pimples sort of on a sloped roof. The installation is easy, but she should make sure it doesn't void the roofers warranty. Might be worth it to have them to the install. True skylights can be tricky though because they are prone to leaking, condensation, and fogging. If I was going to go with a true skylight, personally I'd get a non-operable.

DD1's closet:
We have similar closets in our house and are thinking of doing the same sort of shelving in DDs. This looks great. Where did you find the motion light?

Best thing I ever did for our relationship was hire a cleaner. I'm not working right now (much) and with us moving back to the other house soon we don't have one...but once we move, I'll hire someone again.
