Up at 630 to get to airport for flight. Boarded at 11am. 7 hours on plane. Zero naps. Many hours of screaming. Very embarrassing and INFURIATING. Damn children dammit!!! Aaaah
And then it took over an hour for my bag to come out. $22 for parking
And my h is on a business trip so miL picked us up in my car. Thankfully she's driving us home too since I'm out of it. And now we are in gridlocked traffic both overtired children screaming in the back. Aaaaaahhhhhhh
Thanks guys. They are still awake. They've been awake for almost 17 hours straight. I don't understand !!!!
They actually seem pretty chipper now. It's bizarre.
My MIL was berating me slightly for being so snippy with them while they were screaming in the car. "They are just tired.." . In a tense voice I informed her that I too was tired and I had been listening to this for 12 hours. I almost burst into tears but I didn't.
It took us almost 2 hours to get home but it's only 20 miles!

Omg and I thought I was having a shitty day! You're a saint and if snippy was all you were, everyone on planet earth should be grateful. I'm so glad you're back!
Forgot to mention I was flagged for secondary screening at the airport as well. Kids running like crazy about me as I was xrayed, full pat down and all bags and my clothing checked for drug residue. A swab from Matilda's Peppa pig backpack sounded the alarm. Oh shit I thought, do I even know my own daughter Lol. They retested and all was well thankfully. Then we were super late and I was running to get through U.S. immigration in time. Then Matilda has a tantrum lying on the floor and since I've reached my peak bullshit level for that moment I just continue pulling her along while people stared and judged me ... Sigh. Not my finest parenting day that is for sure.

You crazy.
Welcome back!
I flew to Philly on Monday and there was a dad with a 1 and 3 year old by himself across the aisle from me. Any parent that flies alone with young kids is my hero!
