I was casually browsing Facebook a few minutes ago because I'm so over work for the day when lo and behold I stumble upon a post from my triathlon that is happening in less than 3 weeks.
"Check out our 14.8 mile bike course."
It was 12 miles. I've been training for 12 miles. Tell me this will be ok.
Long bikes in the time I have left call for 12, 9.6, race.
Would it make you feel better if I told you that I did a du earlier this year where the ride was 12-13 and my longest ride was 8 miles? And it was only 1 time?
You can definitely do it. It won't be that much longer. I liken it to marathon training. For example, your longest training run may be 20 miles, but your actual race is 26.2. Race day will carry you and you will kick butt. ;-)
For my first mini-sprint, I found out the week before that the bike was 10 miles, not 10k like I had prepared for. You're going to have so much fun that you will be glad to tri for 10 or 15 more minutes!
