I am listening to The Dinner by Herman Koch. I'm intrigued, but not really loving it so far. The narration is excellent, which is helping. I'm still reading Beach Music by Pat Conroy and it's amazing. Also reading Amy Schumer's The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo because it came in on hold and it's non-renewable. It's good so far.
QOTW: Probably sci-fi/fantasy, although if it's well written and someone recommends it, I will definitely take a chance.

The Paying Guests - just started this for the book club I joined Faithful Place (Dublin Murder Squad #3) The Daughter's Secret - I am having a hard time getting into this one.
Finished reading: - When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James (4 stars - this is like a historical romance version of the Fox tv show 'House', so if you liked the show I think you really might like this as much as I did!) - It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover (3.5 stars - fiction, not romance, see spoiler post for my thoughts but overall I felt it was well written but some things bothered me) - Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean (3 stars - historical romance that was pretty good, I just wanted something light after reading the above book ha)
Currently reading: - Girl at War by Sara Novic (historical audiobook - one scene in this book just about gutted me it was so sad and intense and I'm only 30% through it - Empire of Storms by Sarah Maas - I'm purposely stretching this book out because I just love this author so much. 20% done as of right now and I already love and hate some characters LOL
QOTW: Horror/Zombie books, with only one exception: Feed by Mira Grant (listen to the audiobook for chapter 25 even if you don't like audiobooks. trust me.) ETA: also chick lit and poetry

How is it Friday already??
I'm still making my way through Hands Free Mama. It's ok, but can only do small chunks.
Started Leave Me by Gayle Forman and am loving it. I know a lot of reviews say they didn't like the mc, but I get her. Not really sure what that says about me as a mother!
On a different note, my husband and I attended a shortened version of Scream Free Marriage last night. The guy was fantastic and we received his book for attending. Will definitely read it at some point. Anyone have feedback on his Scream Free Parenting book?
QOTW-couldn't have said it better than labbie; sci-fi but will read it if it comes recommended!

I just started Ashes in Fiery Weather by Kathleen Donohoe, which is pretty good so far. I finished The Hopefuls this week (just ok) and Hamilton, A Revolution (awesome).
QOTW: I'm not a huge fan of nonfiction history books, and I usually don't read short stories or YA that isn't fantasy/sci-fi/dystopian.

I just finished The Things We Wish Were True (kindle free book from last month). For a free kindle book, I really liked it and would recommend it. I also started The Nightingale, which is my book club book for this month, and I'm enjoying it so far! QOTW definitely non-fiction unless it's something I'm super interested in. I don't mind memoirs if it's by someone I like though!

I just finished the three HP Pottermore books as well as a reread on A Discovery of Witches, and now I'm in a book slump again. I'm waiting on several holds, so I fell back into The Jewel House. I may finish it someday. ;-)
QOTW: I don't get into "dude" books, basically anything overtly war-based or westerns. I read a lot of history but I don't enjoy war history. Also, romances and mysteries don't do much for me.

This book was so sad but so good.Save
So I just finished and I really liked it. But is it just me or did the book just kind of...end? Like I thought there would be more to it, it just stops so abruptly. There was plenty of story left to tell! Oh well, I did like it a lot otherwise.
Reading The Nightingale, so good! It came in from a library request not too long after I finished Book Thief for book club. Not a fan of back to back WWII stories, but I like this one WAY better than the Book Thief.
I'm not a fan of fantasy and some sci-fi. If it includes time travel or realistic science I can get on board, I.e 1963 by Stephen King and some Michael crighton
I finished Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. I liked it, it was a nice, easy read.
Started Truly, Madly, Guilty by Liane Moriarty. So far, so good. I like her writing.
QOTW: not a fan of memoirs, historical romance, or short stories. I read them for my IRL book club, but was generally underwhelmed. (Maybe my friends choose bad books?)

I just finished Winter Garden and it was excellent! Highly recommend! I'm also reading The Notorious RBG. I don't think it's particularly well written, but the subject matter overcomes that.
I finished Eleanor and Park - I liked it. (3 stars) Euphoria - read this for a book club through a local brewery. It was a super slow read for me and I really struggled to pick it up to read, but ultimately enjoyed it. (I rated it 3 stars)

I am listening to "The Other Wes Moore" by Wes Moore. This is one that I can listen to on a long drive. Man.
I am reading, "The Book of Speculation" by, Erica Swyler. It's pretty good. I've been in a fall mood recently, and this hits all of my buttons for an enjoyable read.
QOTW: Huh, that's a tough one. Probably True Crime and War Drama. It's just NMS.

Just started Crazy Rich Asians.
QOTW: Sci-fi and romance are my least favorite.
I was impressed by how long it took me to read this book. For it being so short, it was epic-ly long for me. I think I gave it 2 stars.
