Hi! I think this board has died, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I have my first appointment with the RE for #2 and I am kind of freaking out. Remembering the ovulation tests and the blood tests and the supplements and the bajillion appointments and the hope/anticipation/letdown cycle has me nauseated. And I am one of the super lucky ones--IUI#2 is what worked, and I TTC for only 20 months or so.

I got pregnant spontaneously and very unexpectedly earlier this year, but miscarried at nine weeks. My progesterone was really low, so I wanted to go back to the RE to increase my odds of success.

If we miscarry again, I don't think my H will want to proceed further. I think I would. So I am also preemptively worried about being on different pages.

Is anyone else TTC #2 after IF? Anyone want a listening ear while they vent?

My DS is 4 (and three quarters, lol, let's be precise!), and we've been trying for #2 for 2.5 years. I've had 3 MMCs and 2 CPs, and I can understand how your H is feeling. I know after our first MMC, I was destroyed. I told H that I'd keep going (that had been our first cycle in trying), but that if we had another loss, that was it. Well...you see, we kept going. I say all this just to point out that how he's feeling now may not be the same later. We had such a strong desire for a second that we kept going. I hope that you don't have anywhere near this amount of pain and loss in your journey though, of course!

I hope that your RE return is successful! Do you know when you'll start? Do you have to redo testing?

Mushe I am so sorry for your losses.

We will definitely have to repeat testing because I never actually did testing with this doctor. It was a weird fluke where my first (super crappy) RE called and was like, "Hey, I know I started you on Clomid this month, but I'm going on vacation so no treatments this month." I was so irritated. I called a friend's RE, he happened to have a cancellation the next day, and he was like, "Well, normally we do all the testing first, but since you're on Clomid anyway, let's try an IUI with a trigger shot, and take Pregnitude!" And it worked (I think he was very surprised!).

So the good news is that I got pregnant on my second IUI the first time (and the first IUI if you only count the ones with a competent doctor!) and got pregnant without any intervention the second time. But I have some really high risk factors with blood pressure and sugars, so I'm nervous about that.

I check in on this board every now and then, since I plan to be cycling again next spring/summer.
