Hey all, I'm throwing a baby shower for my friend in October and I already have a ton of ideas but wanted to know some unique things you guys had at your showers
Info: Having a Girl Theme: Pinky and Girly (keeping it simple) Time: 2-5 (no big meal needed)
I'll take food/snack ideas Games Anything else you have that you enjoyed at your showers
Thanks Ladies
bk1 I am making her a diaper cake, roughly how much did that cost you when you made that really cute one a while back?
At one of my showers we played a game where everyone took a sharpie and paper plate and had a certain amount of time to place the plate on top of their head and try to draw what my baby would look like. Seeing all of the drawings afterwards was hilarious.
Petit fours!!!!! (Am I spelling that correctly?) that's a big thing down here. I used to be quite the shower queen in my hometown. I've got a great Pinterest board if you are interested.
I've only been to a few baby showers so my knowledge is limited lol. The bingo during gifts always go well. Also the "how big is the belly" with toilet paper was interesting.
As for food, I would do finger sandwiches, pinwheels, salads, cheese and veggie platter, fruit salad. I'm a big fan of easy food that can be made the day before.

Well I have a sweet tooth so I say plenty of desserts My niece made super cute cake pops that looked like rattles!
Ditto the bingo game, easy to put together and gives people something to do (and takes a little pressure off the mother to be since everyone isn't just staring at her the entire time)
Another easy game is to fill a bottle with m&m's (or similar candy) and have everyone guess how many are in there. Whoever is closest wins the candy and the mother to be gets the bottle (see if there is a specific one she is registered for)
travelbug- when I made a diaper cake it didn't cost much more then a box of diapers and I bought my ribbons from a dollar store so it wasn't expensive. I did tie a few toys and such to the edges of the cake so it cost me more then that. But you can make it as fancy as you want.
(I also have made ones where I use receiving blankets instead of ribbon on the cakes.)
I haven't been able to find the pic of that last cute one I did but I found a couple other pics of older ones I made.
Basically you just need diapers (do size 1 or size 2), ribbon, and double stick tape. You can add extra toys or whatnot on there but it's really just a preference thing.
This is the first one I made:
And for another baby shower I made like 6 mini cakes and they were center pieces on the tables:
Still looking for the last pic. I'll upload if I find it. It was by far my favorite!
Oh and rubber bands help too! The pack of rings I used for the first cake worked well, they are cheap, and super awesome for baby. One of G's favorite toys for a long time.

I think I bought one of the medium-ish box of diapers (about 75 count?). That cake was for my BFF, so I splurged on Pampers knowing that's what she preferred so I think the box was like $25. You could definitely go cheaper with Luv's/store brand/etc. Then I rolled all the diapers with rubber bands, but I bought those at the dollar store. The ribbon on top and cake platter it's sitting on were also from the dollar store. The ribbon on the outside was from Michaels and was $4-5, but we used in multiple places for the shower. The starfish were also decor used throughout the shower and a pack of like 15 was maybe $10 on Amazon.
