Anyone use either? I've been going back and forth for a while.
I have a scribd account and I love it for Audio books. I also have a ton of other "text" books on there, but I really do e-reading on my kindle. I am tossing around the idea of switching to kindle unlimited, because they have audio books through Audible, and I have an Amazon Prime account. Ugh, for the sake of having a more streamlined and simple reading life, I should. But I hate the idea of giving more money to amazon, they already own half of my life. LOL.
I know I could just give both up and go to the library, (Trust me I do that already too), but in a jam I like to have access to my e-reader.
ETA: I guess I should intro.... oops.
I am Brandie, I've been around for a while. I have an MA in Literature and I work in Freelance as a writer and I am also trying to build a decent knit design business. I almost forgot that we had this board. I've been reading a lot more lately and thought I would join the conversation. I enjoy general Fiction/Literature. If it has a peppering of magic, I love it even more. I just finished reading "The Witch's Daughter" by Paula Brackston, and found it lovely. Although part of me wants to deconstruct it. For difficult reads, I enjoy Virgina Woolf and other Modernists, as well as Victorian writing and Gothic literature. I also enjoy the Romantics. (And there you have the foundation of my degree, lol) Right now, since I don't have a list of books to read, I am enjoying exploring non-canonical fiction. Holy crap, am I enjoying the hell out of it.

I have a Kindle but don't subscribe to either one. Kindle Unlimited sounds interesting though but I worry that I wouldn't read enough books that they offer and in the end would not get my money's worth. I keep forgetting to stop by the library so that I can figure out how to borrow their ebooks though.
I'm very late to this thread and don't use either scribd or Kindle Unlimited (I get a lot of my Kindle books from my library), but I did want to say welcome, brandienee!
I think if you're using a Kindle more often and, from what I gather, there's only a dollar price difference, switch to Kindle Unlimited. I know what you mean though, I feel like Amazon keeps coming up with things that I want to pay money for, but if it's truly a service you would use, switch to something that's more convenient.

I don't use either, but I read a ton of e-books on my kindle. I belong to my library and the Philadelphia free library. I can download about 85% of the books I want for free and the rest I buy. I don't think that the list of books on kindle unlimited is worth it for me.
