Anyone starting a W30 or in the middle of one? I am doing kind of a reset after my marathon, starting today. This is not my first rodeo, but it's been a long time since I've actually done a W30.
Anyways, I'm here as always to answer questions or to listen.
I'm on day 4 I've attempted several times in the past but haven't made it through to 30 days yet. GOING TO DO IT THIS TIME!!!
I am on day 3.
What have been your roadblocks in the past?
In the past it has always been sweets. The first time I tried Halloween was day 7 and I couldn't resist some of my son's candy! Going out to dinner is tough too. And also alcohol if I go out on a date or for happy hour. I guess that's a lot of roadblocks! Today is day 5 and so far I am good!

Hi WamBam!
I am considering doing a whole 30 again. Doing it while pregnant or nursing when I had so many dietary restrictions that are big parts of W30 (no eggs or brassica was KILLER) meant I have failed when I tried a few times over the last few years.
I'm on Day 3. This is the first time I've ever tried it. I usually drink unsweeted coffee with milk and I'm not a fan of it black. Otherwise no challenges so far, other than a fight with DH who didn't want me to inconvenience him by making my own meals (he does all the meals for the family).
My plan for week 1 is:
B: scrambled eggs
L: tuna with avocado; fruit.
S: cashews or bananas
D: two crockpot meals for dinners (one is beef and butternut squash stew; one is a roast chicken with veggies).
Luckily I am fine with eating the same meals over and over, if not this would be way harder. But, i'm used to a latte at breakfast, and I am finding that the breakfast I'm eating (3 eggs) isn't lasting me very long. Today it's almost 11 and I've already had the eggs, coffee, and an orange I brought for snack. I'm ravenous right now.
Yesterday was Day 3 and mid-day I was ravenous, unable to be satisfied. I finally ate a larabar that I think was compliant and it settled my hunger. In the evening after dinner I was starving again. I really don't think either was a craving; it seemed to truly be hunger. Who knows. I had an apple with almond butter then.

wambam, maybe I don't know how to eat. I"m starving. RAVENOUS. I got the Whole 30 book and was super disappointed in it. I think I was really wanting "it starts with food," rather than what was mostly a cookbook. Should I read "It Starts with Food" instead? I don't need a cookbook! I have the internet!

You should definitely not be ravenous. Based on your above post, I think you're probably not eating enough fat or vegetables and maybe a bit too much fruit/dried fruit and nuts. I would add vegetables to your breakfast, for starters. Instead of snacking on fruit or a Lara bar by itself, I would add protein and fat (HB egg is easy and what I usually do) to your snacks.
ISWF is a more informative book. It does have some recipes but it's not a cookbook.

Thanks. I agree, not enough veggies. I did add blueberries (obv not a veggie) at breakfast this AM. I could add spinach and mushrooms to my eggs; that would help. Maybe 2 hours after breakfast I devoured the rest of the beef/butternut squash stew.
Also, lunch has ended up being an avocado and tuna most days. I could add carrots to that. I added tomatoes to it today. Then had a larabar.
