She seems to love it so I guess that's what matters. I wouldn't do this for my preschooler. I wouldn't do this for my almost 6yo. However he is currently in a room I have mostly set up as my office (not yet finished) and he loves it and has claimed it as fully his own (hence the not yet finished). Sometimes kids just love their own space regardless of the design.

I think my toddler would like it - we have a pretty muted room for him and he likes his room - doesn't mean that he wouldn't be happier I one of those under-bed storage drawers held only Legos.
That being said, I really like a lot of the elements, except the color of the bed. I feel like the bed, bedding, and rug could be bright pops and color and still work great with this, but also read more child-like. Without the color it fits with her house well, though.

Meh. This is her schtick; her whole house looks like this. Too me it's a little too on-trend and personality-lacking, but that's why I stopped reading her blog. (Well that and when she started posting all those weird "fashion" selfies and sponsored posts.)

I don't understand the dresser/reading area. Her bed is 5 feet away. I would think a child would want a clear space to put their "things". Or is my child the only one that collects rocks, random crap, and toys?
I like the right side of the room. The green bed/wallpaper. Not what I think when I think of a child's room, but I'm drawn to the rustic modern aesthetic.
partiallysunny, her kids don't have toys. She doesn't want them to experience the joys of childhood if it means their joys will ruin her aesthetic.
As to the room, it's not offensive, but I'm not sure it's a kid's room. I don't believe her daughter loves it; she loves it. It's already dated. Really dated.
I don't understand the reading nook. Isn't the point of a reading nook to snuggle up and lean against something? The art is so low, no one will be leaning against anything. It's just another example of making things pretty but not useful, which is her thing.
I also don't read her blog anymore. She annoys me. I did read GOMI until recently to catch up on things without giving her clicks, but I don't care anymore.

It seems a little grown up. I did DS's room in a rather mature style but I added some whimsical elements and it's very practical too (re: storage, stuff, places to hang things, etc.) I need to PIP that room for the board...
This is obviously a small room but I think she lost some opportunities to maximize the space e.g., w/desk & art space, more storage for books, lighting, etc. The pad on the dresser seems like a waste. It's too high for comfy sitting and I would be surprised if that dresser were weighted to hold an adult. And I know lamps look chic but give me a ceiling fan!
I'm not a fan, it just looks very disjointed to me. It's like she couldn't decide which direction she wanted to go, so instead just ran in circles throwing things until they stuck.
Yes!
I was going to say that it felt like the room was decorating schizophrenia. The first two pictures in this post look like two different rooms...and none of them look like a particularly interesting kid room to me.

I am not great at decorating and often ask my SIL for help. But one thing I can say for sure is that no animal head, real or not, is going to be displayed in my house. Are they into hunting?
I don't hate it, but I have a really hard time believing her daughter really likes it. She may say she does, but only if she doesn't really know what she is missing, lol.
They live and vacation in places with similar décor so I am not surprised they love it. I actually like certain elements in the room but it does read older to me...like more of a guest room if you remove the few toys.

Ditto...she's a one trick pony and it's not even a unique trick. Meh.
Trendy and not my style, but I think it's overall cute. My 4yo daughter would love a lot of things in that room. Little kids get excited about the weirdest things.
Not a fan overall. I don't like that there are 2 different accent walls, and I really don't like the wood wall. I don't mind the arrow patterned wall, though. I like the olive green bed, but hate that "throw" if you can call it that. It looks like a 50-year old remnant of denim fabric. I like the dresser and the artwork above it is okay, but I agree that making the dresser into a seat is unnecessary. In the post, it shows that she has a dollhouse in the closet, which is apparently her favorite toy. I think the top of the dresser would have been a much better place for the dollhouse.
I think her look is overly trendy and sort of a random, discombobulated assortment of Pinterest concepts all thrown together. So completely not my thing.
