There were too many holes in the story and I kept waiting for a HUGE twist. However, I was really intrigued by the storyline, wondering where it was going.

I thought it was a quick read and it held my interest, but it was so unlikely. I had a hard time swallowing that people wouldn't have noticed! This was a selection for my friend book club, and I am kind of relieved that I am missing the meeting because I do not this book will lead to decent conversation. Was her not getting her emails ever addressed?

No it wasn't. And you would think she should have been checking in with work/writing something.

Right! Even without wifi, you can still jot impressions down. I can understand that the circumstances led her to rearrange her priorities, but I just found it improbable that this character would be on the boat in the first place. Even without considering the events that happened before the trip, she just seemed like someone who hadn't worked her way up to that opportunity, or even a good fit with the culture on the boat (and every time she mentioned she hadn't looked at the itinerary my blood pressure went up). I feel like the author was trying to make her more interesting and relatable by being under-qualified and constantly expressing self-doubt, but that really took away the believability.
