This year we want to watch the whole Wishes show. We only plan to be at MK one night of our trip for the show (there are 5! party days while we are there). We plan to hop over to MK for dinner at BOG at 5:20 and stay for the fireworks at 10, it's a Saturday so MK should be very crowded.
I thought about doing the dessert party, but for the 4 of us it is almost $200, and with the BOG reservation at 5:20 I'm not sure if we'll be that hungry?
If we don't do the dessert party- how long before show time should we try to get seats (not "seats" really but a good viewing location- I would like to be close enough that we sit)? Can I hold the seat while DH takes the 2 kids on rides and he come half an hour before? Or any other tips?
I adored Wishes. My mom and I both cried! Is the Main Street Electrical Parade still going to be going on when you're there? We got a good spot for that to the left of the castle, then just stayed there until Wishes.
I'd say that you can hold a spot easily, if you have a stroller and can "defend" your territory. The closer you get to the castle, the worse it will be.

Why don't you try to get a late lunch reservation and then do the dessert party. Skip dinner and maybe have a small snack to tide you over.
I actually don't mind the view from closer to the train station. It's less crowded & easier to get out of the park. I also heard the Tommorowland bridge can be a good view.

BOG dinner is a must-do for us, so I don't want to drop it. The chance of being able to change it to another night is slim, especially because of the parties (ressies only available from 4-6:15).
I think I might get there extra early and scope out a good spot and hold it with the double stroller (kids can sit in the stroller to watch the show).
ETA: booking food 180 days before is a whole other vent- I got everything I wanted but boy do I wish I could switch the days for some meals! That's why we always need park hoppers when we go.

You'll be fine for the fireworks getting to the hub area like 20 minutes before. There are so many places around there to see the fireworks since they let you stand in the street.
I like Celebrate the Magic better than Wishes (although I do like Wishes) but for the former you can't be too far back from the castle (by the train station).
I think not having the parade may make things better for W.
