I found that kids can sometimes get over illnesses way more quickly than we do. If he's hungry, I think it's okay to try and nurse him. I'm afraid this advice is probably too little too late for you, but that's what I would advise. He may not have even caught the stomach bug, and just had a reflux episode overnight or gagged on a hair or something.
"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."
At 9m, you can try to nurse him if he's hungry, but if he's eating any foods, you can try bland foods, along with something like pedialyte to keep him hydrated, if you're worried about him being able to keep BM down.
Both of my kids were pretty good with table food by that point (we did BLW kind of with both), so I could have given them some dry toast, bananas, or some applesauce, along with some pedialyte. Just an idea!
But if he only vomited once, he might be okay to nurse, kwim? You might need to feed him regularly to even determine if he's going to vomit again.
Yeah he's 110% fine except being ripshit pissed I haven't stuck a boob in his mouth. Thanks guys!! Please think good thoughts for MrP alone with a sick baby on his 30th b'day.
Id call the pedi just to be sure but i think even at 9 months they are pretty able to deal with a bug like toddlers.
I read up on best practices for stomach bug treatment when I was nervous about DD puking. If puking is happening every hour or two, don't fed. You can give water, but anything you give will most likely come back up, so limit it to tiny sips.
If it's been more like 4-5 hours AND the individual is hungry, then fed, but limit it if at all possible because the stomach still has a good chance of throwing it back up.
If its been a few hours longer, they might still have a chance, but go ahead and fed but still not as much as usual if possible.
If he doesn't want to eat/drink at all that's fine because it probably just means he'd throw it up again. But again, call the pedi to find out what signs you should look out for more serious issues, like dehydration, fever, etc.
Sam was about 10 months when he has really bad norovirus. Probably puked 20 times over 5 hours. After about six hours of sleeping thereafter, he was ravenous, happy to nurse, and kept down milk no problem.
