We have a meal delivery service that leaves us 6 heat-and-eat Paleo-ish meals in an insulated bag with a bunch of ice packs. We leave the empty bag out Sunday night, and Monday morning when we get up there is food (usually it gets delivered around 3-4am and we have it in the fridge by 7).
Today the service accidentally left my food at the wrong house and I just tracked it down now at almost 6pm. It sat outside on the neighbor's porch on ice all day. The ice is still relatively frozen and the meals feel cool to the touch.
Normally I would eat them, but at 24w pregnant I am hesitating.
Would you eat them? Or throw them out and fight to be comped this week?
I would eat them, even pregnant, since they were still cool and the ice hadn't melted.
I might still ask for some kind of compensation for their mistake and my time/effort in tracking them down. But I don't think you need to pitch the food in order to reasonably ask for that.
We got a blue apron delivery late once (past 11:30 pm) and we didn't find it until 8 am the next day. The ice packs were still frozen solid so we ate it, though they told us to dispose it it (their policy). They did refund us as well.
It is called PowerSupply and it started here in DC but has grown to LA and SF too now--I'm a huge fan, today's blip notwithstanding. They use all local chefs and you can pick exactly which of maybe 20-25 Paleo/mixitarian/vegetarian meals (mostly lunches and dinners, some breakfasts too) they are offering each week. At first I used to pick them up at a local yoga studio (they also deliver to a lot of cross fit boxes) but now they deliver to my home. It's not MM, but it's definitely a huge timesaver for us.

is it comparable to blue apron? I started Plated. I balked at the price but it has gotten me to cook more, use different ingredients, and the meals are pretty healthy. Btw I would eat, esp since you heat the meals.

This is literally heat and eat. I dump the food on a plate, microwave three minutes, and I'm eating. Cost is definitely higher than blue apron, but value is too for us.
It was founded like literally down the street for me, so I love seeing such a cool local business grow.

The food is so good! A friend of mine is a rep in the LA/OC region, so we'd have tastings all the time at our gym and community events. The only reason we don't use it consistenty is because I eat so much, it would bankrupt us. The large sizes are like a pre-snack snack to me. (wilted)
Even my husband will eat it, which is a miracle! They have one meal that is like the buffalo chicken crack dip, with a mango-jicama slaw on the side. We get it like every week.
