s/o E-Readers - Where to find books

I have a Kindle Fire that I want to load before we leave for vacation on Monday. My local library has a horrible selection and never has any books I actually want.

Any websites that have downloadable or rentable e-books?

Amazon actually has a decent selection of free or super cheap books (like a dollar for each or something.)
