It has finally, FINALLY started to cool down here. And by cool down, I mean it's normal summer weather instead of "melt into a puddle of sweat" summer weather. I went to Target today and bought A a few warmer items for her to wear once we're back up north. I'm a little nervous about travelling with her by myself in a couple of weeks. Hopefully it all goes smoothly. awick14, let me know if there's anything you want me to bring back for your wee one or for you.
loira- nothing that I can think of. But thanx for thinking of me.
I'm doing well. We've been down sizing a lot of our stuff and I'm pretty proud of how much we've gotten rid of. I have a hard time getting rid of things.
Oh god, we're right there with you. I'm pretty sure we saw every hour last night. DD was sleeping through the night pretty consistently then got hit with terrible back to back colds, a stomach virus, and a tooth. I thought maaaaybe we were getting back to normal, but this weekend nearly killed me.
ivy, cactuscookie, A is just emerging from her 6 month regression (2 months later, boo)... but I can see a bit of swelling on her upper gum and fear her top teeth might be working their way through soon.

Hello! Hugs to all you mommies with babies who aren't sleeping!
H built our crib yesterday and will start working on they dresser next. Curtains are also being sewn as we speak. The next big purchase will be the glider in a couple weeks. I have my next OB appointment a week from today and I'm anxious to see the baby again. I think I'm through my latest bout of anxiety. I was really anxious last week since I wasn't feeling any movement, but I'm like 85% sure I'm feeling it now, which is SO reassuring! We also have our pedi cardio follow-up in two weeks from today, so I'm sure Ithe anxiety will return again shortly.
Huh, didn't see that before. We've always made sure DH entrered on his Canadian passport in case this was necessary but I guess now we really have to make sure to do that. Well, almost always, there was the one time DH informed me mid flight he forgot his Canadian passport at home. Luckily he had the Swedish one with him. I did not speak to him for hours...
Right now I'm trying to figure out how to apply for a citizenship certificate for DS. It seems we probably need to get him a Swedish passport first so he has a photo ID. I might just have FIL investigate the steps to it since he loves to do those kinds of things. Well, we're probably not going to Canada again until next Summer so that should give us enough time to get the certificate and apply for a Canadian passport.

Me too! Any tips?
I've had my sister helping me and she's very good at downsizing, so she's forcing me to really thing if I need these things or not.
It also helps that we will be living with the ILs for a year, so we won't be using any of our kitchen stuff, so I've been getting rid of a lot of stuff that we can replace once we move into our our place.

Can you send her my way?
Living with the ILs is my worst nightmare. I hope it goes well for you.
My pants started feeling a little tight last week and today it's really bad. I have my 12 week appt next monday and I think I'll start wearing maternity pants after that. I made it so much longer last time. Luckily (?) I might not have many more days at work this week since it looks like a good chance they'll send us home thursday and friday for the hurricane.
C just turned 16 weeks and sleep regression has hit us. She's been sleeping less during the day and about and hour and a half at a time at night. I'm so tired that my dreams involve me being tired and not wanting to do anything. I also have to help with my oldest daughter's jog a thon fundraiser all day tomorrow.
We got the crib and dresser put together in the nursery (well DH did lol). Also got the prints and artwork up on the walls. Only a couple more decorations to go and the room is done! I have been going through her clothes and seeing what I need. LOVE amazon for that lol. I also got a SUPER sweet deal on an open box City Mini stroller yesterday, $120!!! I think it was mis-priced and supposed to be $220. It shipped and is arriving tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Trigger warning Cancer below: T&P for my nephew please as he was just diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He is only 7 years old.

From what I remember when I was pregnant with V and looking into the process, you'll likely have to make a trip to the embassy to register a Canadian birth abroad. Once you have him registered, you can apply for his passport using his citizenship certificate. I don't know how long it takes though - the US process was really simple and allowed us to register A and apply for her passport at the same time, but we did have to make the trip to the Consulate in Vancouver.
A has learned the word "No"... and thinks it's hilarious. FML.
She had words?! I don't think H has ever even made an 'n' sound, and she's certainly never said a real word!
Oh no. She doesn't talk, but she thinks it's funny when I tell her "no". She has started babbling a lot more lately, but even her "dadada" isn't in reference to her actual Dada.

Ah, I see. We have the 'dadada' too, but so far, no 'mamama', despite all my encouraging.
I keep seeing these milestone lists that say babies should be learning 'no' around now, but she's not close. Of course, now that she can crawl toward electrical cords, we'll have more opportunities to practice telling her no...

I only hear 'mamama' when she's unhappy, (and still not in reference to me) lol. But at least Muddled has a good theory for that. Awesome that H is crawling! A is not close to crawling. I think it's probably my fault because Mummy Daycare isn't very rigorous. She's got good fine motor skills but has always lagged on the gross motor skills. I currently ignore the milestone lists because I just end up paranoid that she's behind on stuff. Sometimes I think it's not that she can't do something, but that she's not interested in it - like, she hates to be on her belly, so I've never seen her roll back to belly. But she probably could. She just doesn't.
Muddled- we have already discussed boundaries with my MIL, FIL is so breezy and living with him is going to be fun. We will have our own space except we will share a kitchen and a laundry room. She has said that she will not come into the basement unless invited by us. Hopefully she remembers that after baby is born.

Z JUST started saying mama last week. He said "dada", "cat", and "dog" all before that. I'm still his favorite though

What's the theory?
H is always lagged a bit on communication. She's often within the normal range, but just barely. (We fill out surveys for daycare occasionally.) I don't worry about it, though, since she's always been really good at fine and gross motor skills, I just figure she's focusing on that instead.
