cactuscookie , her theory is that it's harder to make the 'mama' sound when you're smiling, but super easy to make it when you're pouty.
Aww. Cute. Save
It's true. Dada is easier to say when you are smiling/happy. And that is the reason my baby says mama when she is sad and dada when she is happy. Or did. She's a big girl now.

I did not expect to be so emotional about this.
Aww. Hugs. You have a toddler now!
Literally. Frankenstein walking FTW.
We just found out her daycare is closing at the end of the year. She only goes once a week, but she loves it and they love her.
I received a bill today for embryo storage fees, ugh. I'm feeling done but not ready to destroy the sole embryo we have left, so I called in my credit card number and then asked about embryo quality because I don't really remember anything about it. The embryologist told me it's a high quality AA embryo. For some reason that makes me less sure, like maybe we should give it a chance or something. IDK. I guess we will see how we're feeling about it next year when the bill arrives.
I also found all the drug receipts when I was cleaning out clutter earlier this week. More little reminders. Oh well, the prize at th end was worth it.
Happy birthday, Mudlette! Muddled, I can imagine it was emotional, especially as you guys are OAD. I think we'll be going through the same in January (I'm 90% set on not having another after A).
Thanks, awick14 and cactuscookie. It will be ok. We are moving soon anyhow and so my weekly respite was already up in the air as it is. If it's an emergency, there are other spots, but it is/was nice to know how much they love our girl.
dellabear, your post actually made me a little relieved that we used everything we had, which, admittedly, wasn't much. The stress factors just keep on coming, don't they?

Happy late birthday Muddled baby! It's crazy that some of you ladies who were posting when I started on TTTC have toddlers now! But as of today I have a three month old at home so I guess it's not so crazy. And really it's amazing! starryfish , so fun seeing the nursery come together! dellabear , we just paid storage fees as well - it definitely brings up lots of feelings!
Yesterday was the most stereotypical "working mom" day in the world for me. I started the morning really well but by the time I got to work my shirt had two different breastmilk spots and spit-up all down the shoulder. AND I forgot my flanges for my pump so I had to turn around and go back home 45 minutes into my work day to get those. :?
It's true, he is pretty cute. He carries a spatula around everywhere, despite having tons of toys. I told my mom it was his confidence booster to keep walking. lol he's holding it in every video I've taken so far.

Okay, I was paying attention this weekend, and H did seem to follow this pattern! She doesn't make the 'm' sound much at all, but when she does, it's when she isn't happy.
Muddled, did you say that M went through a phase when she bit you during nursing? H is doing this, and it really sucks. Obviously it hurts like hell, but it also makes it hard to relax while feeding her. Did you find anything that worked to get her to stop? I pretty much just say 'no' and give her a stern look when she does it. She doesn't understand 'no' yet, so this isn't going to be effective immediately.
cactuscookie, this is totally secondhand info, but I remember this topic coming up on my local mum's FB group a few months ago. One mum wrote that she found it helpful to gently push her baby's head into her breast when he bit. I guess her theory was that if she tried to pull him away he just clamped down tighter? Anyway, no clue of how effective this might be for you, but maybe worth a try.

Yes. It was the worst when her top teeth were coming in. I said "no biting" in a stern voice and popped her off the boob. I'd put her back on after telling her that biting hurts mama or something and we would try again. I just took her off immediately if she bit. I tried not to jump or scream (which was hard) because I didn't want to scare her.
The good news is, like most everything else, it was a phase and it passed.
Eta: what loira said can work because it cuts off the airway so they de-latch to breathe. My boobs aren't big enough for that to be consistent, so I just had my pinky positioned and ready to go.

They are so funny. M keeps her arms straight up in the air.

Z went through a phase where he bit me. I would yelp and scare the crap out of him, but it hurt! I would tell him no and end the nursing session. At least for a few minutes. It took a few times doing that, but he learned pretty quickly not to bite.
His biting phase seemed to coincide with when he was getting his front top teeth in. He already had the bottom 2 and seemed to be testing out his new chompers Once the those top teeth came in all the way, he stopped biting me.

Ugh, thanks, you guys. I'll try your suggestions and hope it passes very fast. She has bottom teeth, but we don't think he top teeth are coming in yet. However, she would occasionally painfully "bite" me before she had any teeth too.

We went through that too. The little punk would give me the biggest smile. She was so proud of herself.
I know how painful it is. I hope it is over quickly.
