The Tattooed Moose 1137 Morrison Dr tattooedmoose.com/home.html Amazing sandwiches. The duck club is a must. I think the duck fat fries are overrated. If the small parking lot is full, you can park on Meeting on block behind.
Vendue Rooftop Bar 19 Venue Range thevendue.com/restaurants/the-rooftop/ This would be a great place to go up and grab a cocktail before your dinner at Fleet Landing because it’s nearby.
Variety Store (for breakfast) www.varietystorerestaurant.com/ordereze/default.aspx This place is very traditional breakfast (kind of diner-style food), really great food, AMAZING views of the harbor. You’ll have to drive, they will validate your parking when you pay if you ask. Park and then go up the steps above the marina. Get a seat by the window. Seriously.
Minero 155 East Bay www.minerorestaurant.com Really good Mexican food. Maybe a little pricey, but maybe not so bad for lunch.
Pizzeria Di Giovanni www.yelp.com/biz/pizzeria-di-giovanni-charleston It’s in the Rainbow Market at 40 N Market St (near the open air market). You have to kind of walk in a little ways to get to it. They have really good, GIANT slices of pizza and a good lunch special so if you’re over there and want pizza, check it out.
Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q www.jimnnicks.com 288 King St Good BBQ and really super awesome cheese biscuits.
Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts glazedgourmet.com/ 481 King St I don’t think this needs a description.
Cru Café crucafe.com/ 18 Pinckney St Neat little out of the way place for lunch.
Random Things to Do - Walk to the waterfront and sit on swings, watch dolphins, etc. Walk to East Bay, take a right, left on Vendue Range and it’s straight ahead.
- Go to the farmer’s market Saturday morning. It’s in Marion Square. Walk to Meeting St, take a right and you’ll see it at the corner of Calhoon & Meeting. Lots of good food trucks there.
- Walk the shopping district of King St (mostly between Hasell and Calhoun on King). Go to Christoph’s on Society St. AMAZING chocolates, pastries, coffee. It’s on your left coming from King St.

I love McCloud Plantation. I like to take a tour of downtown, either grayline bus tour from the visitor's center, or the horse and carriage, eat at Fleet landing for the harbor views, The Calhoun Mansion, because you can't make up the clutter. Take a harbor cruise or the boat to Fort Sumter. The old exchange and provost dungeon is a neat tour. Boone Hall Plantation is also interesting. Visit Art Galleries. Michael Hill Gallery and Robert Lange Studios are two of my favorites, but there are seemingly 100's. If you want to drive, Bowen's Island is a quirky place for oysters, near Folly Beach. Should still be pretty warm.
Fort Sumter is definitely worth the trip. I've been a few times, but had never been on a carriage tour until my most recent visit. It was so fun! The guide was funny and interesting and both DH and I had a great time. Walk across the Ravenelle bridge. Maybe do a sunset kayak tour.
Wander the streets. Go down to the battery and grab a swing. Take a carriage ride. See all the gorgeous houses. Fave restaurants: Hominy Grill (breakfast), Virginia's on King, Poogan's Porch (amazing biscuits), Halls Chop House, High Cotton, Magnolias.
