WTF is a "sprinkle"? Just a cutesy name for a baby shower, or is there some difference?
Baby showers tend to be for a first baby. A sprinkle is usually for a a child beyond the first -with the assumption you already have many of the big items to re-use.
Wow, that's super annoying. Especially if the guest lists don't overlap a lot. I would only bring a gift for B. It is lame to have to buy for someone else's second baby when you do not know them!!! I hope the party isn't awkward, but I'm guessing it will be.

Very odd to have a joint baby anything. I thought from your title that it was a mother/father shower type thing, which is equally crazy. I would buy a small gift for C. In the best circumstance, she will appreciate another blanket or bottle or whatever. In the worst circumstance, she will have at least one gift to open. Either way, you look like the good guy.
This has happened to me but it was a birthday party. It was so weird because the two people didn't have that many people in common. I took gifts for both. Just a smaller gift card for the person I didn't know but not giving her anything felt like I was showing up half empty-handed lol.
I don't think it's that weird to have a joint sprinkle. No different than a joint B-day party. You're only obligated to bring a gift for B, but I agree with others that I would probably pick up something small for $5-10 for C. Small pack of diapers, a onesie, etc. You can get so many cheap baby gifts. This is assuming you aren't on a tight budget. If you are then a gift for B is enough.
