Our library has a music and movement class. I used to take the boys, but there is now like 50 ppl and my kids just want to run all over the room and be crazy so I stopped taking them. Lol.
They do much better at storytime at the library. Ours sings some songs, reads a book, does some finger play and usually a craft or snack. Maybe there's something like that close?

He plays the maracas in music class at school, lol. But he has a keyboard and a mini drum set at home that he sometimes plays with. He seems to have a keen ear for music.
Colin is starting piano lessons at his own request. I think he's probably a little young and I feel like it will be a big fat failure but he really wants to play.
I would love to find a music and movement class around here but most of the classes are a drive. I wish we had more options. Do you have any Gymboree classes around? I also hear great things about Kindermusik
He used to do that at the library too including the running around like a crazy!
The time doesn't work out they offer all those type things at the library during school hours but that's an excellent thought
Yeah that does stink. Luckily our library offers one class on Monday nights for story time (and three during the week during school/work hours). I hope you're able to find something for him. It sounds like he's doing great!
Baby steps but he's come leaps and bounds from where he was this time last year
I thank god every single solitary day that we moved where we live and he's in a school system with such amazing teachers without miss c last year and everything sh did for us I'm not sure where we would be now
I look at my smart beautiful boy and know in my heart he is perfect and will have a full complete life
I think suzuki group lessons start at age 4. We haven't looked into it for B, but I had a bunch of friends that got into violin/viola/piano at early ages through suzuki if you're looking beyond music/movement classes.
G started Suzuki piano lessons last month and has been loving them so far. Her teacher starts kids as early as 3. I'm pretty sure Suzuki violin/cello/bass is similar. It's a really big time commitment, though...I sit down with her every night to practice plus she has one group lesson and two short individual lessons each week.
The group lesson involves music activities and movement. The private lessons are very focused on playing and are mostly her sitting still at the piano.

W does a movement and music class once a week at school. It's basically just an introduction to various instruments (bells, kazoos, maracas, etc) with some singing and dancing (think hokey pokey). I spoke to the piano teacher at school and she recommended waiting until next year. I'm pretty sure I started violin lessons in kindergarten.
