Really windy and heavy rain on & off. There are downed branches and trees in my area already... and Saturday's supposed to be worse. Our power is still on. We have candles, a gas stove and plenty of food. We'll be fine.
I'm mostly just disappointed because we were going to take DS to the pumpkin patch for the first time tomorrow. I hope next weekend's weather is better so we can take him then.

Hopefully all the pumpkins won't have been blown away. lol
But seriously though...I hope you all stay safe this weekend.

Wind and rain off and on all day. I worked from home today and have had flickering power. One of my co-workers had a free fall on their car. I'm worried about tomorrow's storm.
My brother is sleeping on my couch tonight because he could not get a flight home. Save me.
Oh goodness, good luck! My parents tend to lose power more often than I do and I'm worried my mom is going to end up at my place (my dad is out of town)
ETA: this sounds awful, I realize, but I'm sick and right now we're not getting along so her staying here could do me in
I was driving to Tacoma yesterday and drove through really deep (maybe 20"? It was to the top of the wheel wells on the car in front of me). Somehow I punctured a tire. I'm actually glad it happened in the water, because I think the water kept me from losing control with a blowout. Unfortunately, I freaked and pulled into the left hand shoulder, and didn't feel safe changing the tire myself. Two hours later, I called my boss to tell him I wasn't driving that far in a donut, so I went home.
I'm not on the coast (I live in the okanagan) but unfortunately Vancouver area (BC, Canada) has been hit hard by the wind yesterday, today is supposed to be much worse.
** child death mentioned** * * * A tree was up rooted yesterday and landed on a 15 year old boy, he passed away in hospital because of his injuries. The storm is supposed to be worse in that area tonight.

From the news I know power went out a bunch of places, but it basically bypassed my neighborhood entirely. We got a few gusts, lots of rain, and a couple of light flickers and that's it.
But on the plus side we did all the laundry Friday night, just in case, so we get to spend all day tomorrow slacking off instead of fussing with it.
There is a tree down up the street from me, but otherwise, all is calm. (And I read about it on the neighborhood blog, so for all I know, it's really a branch in the intersection.)

My mom's best friend has some serious damage to their house from the tornado. Luckily they weren't home because a giant tree fell through their roof and into their master bedroom
