I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid so I have someone to talk to about this. Or let me know if you have already read it.
Because I devoured it in one sitting and liked it but have no idea what the fuck I just read. It was weirder than Bird Box. I have some theories but need someone to talk through them with.
if you like haunting, creepy, psychological thriller type books, please read this and report back.

Huh- I'm intrigued by the reviews... Thanks for the recommendation! Ok- I just ordered; I was going to get the Kindle version but hardcover was only a couple bucks more & sounds like I definitely need to pass on to a friend. Give us till the end of the week..? (Or we should just revive this thread?)

Just put a hold on it at the library. Gonna pick it up in a few minutes. I've been trying to find new books that I wouldn't grab so thanks for the rec!
Also, if you like suspense or thrillers or books that stay with you, pick up The Dinner by Koch. He's a Dutch writer. I think they're making it into a movie.
I read this book a few weeks ago. The author actually liked my review and sent me a goodreads message with another book recommendation, ha.
Can we talk about it? I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I'm curious your take on it.
His & I just got our copy today, so we were hoping you guys might give us (minimum) 48 hrs. I volunteered to re-up this thread for discussion revival; if you ladies insist on Fri, I'll deal/ cram. But I would LOVE a Monday throw down!

Monday would be fine! I've got parent/teacher conferences all this week, so my appearance on the boards will be spotty until the weekend. I am honestly so thrilled others are reading this book. I hope it lives up to the expectations I set! lol
Got this book last night and started reading. Super easy read. I have no idea what is going on so far and I'm about 20% through. I have about a million thoughts so far.

The end. I mean. Wtf?
Yes! So crazy. I read some reviews where people thought she was really Steph, the girl from one of the photos at the house. But I don't know about that.
And then the scene at the DQ made me think he did this with a bunch of girls? It's so bizarre.
I would love to talk about it more; I have to get running to work, and I'm not able to be on during the day, so I won't respond again until this evening.

She was all of them. Or, more accurately, he was. Jake has MPD and he committed suicide at the end. He met the narrator at a bar, but never gave her his number. The entire story was a fabrication in his mind.

I am about halfway through and they just finished dinner at his parent's house and she is wandering around. NOW I'm getting a bit more into it. Weird. I love psychological suspense shit like this. I don't want to stop reading now
