My sheets are in the washer. There is borax all over the carpet in the bedroom and living room. The dog is outside (unsupervised *gasp*) while I let the borax sit for a couple of hours. I'm leaving it in the bedroom overnight and DH will sleep in the basement tonight (I'm going to a concert and then spending thenight at my friend's house).
I double checked, and we put frontline on the cat and dog on August 23.
How can we have flea!?!?
Also, anyone know if I can give the dog a capstar when she had a frontline treatment about 2 weeks ago? She is scratching like she has them.

Have you combed both the dog and the cat with a flea comb? You need to do that to be sure that any eggs are getting removed from their bodies. After combing, I would give both of them a bath.
I will have DH pick up a flea comb on his way home from work. We don't have one. We've never had fleas before! But I saw one jumping and H got bit in bed 3 times last night.

The flea eggs get laid in the fur/coats of the animals, and they kind of stick/cling to the root of the hair follicle. The comb should get the eggs off the animal.
We just found a couple of fleas on the dog last Thursday and I have been crazy ever since. Luckily I have a short haired chihuahua, so I picked all the fleas off that I could find and gave him a nice long bath. Since then I have been vacuuming like crazy. I have read that the eggs can be in the carpet and the furniture and can last a long time. We've vacuumed 4 times and put anything that will fit through the washer and dryer twice. I am cleaning the whole house because I am terrified. They can live in your yard, too, so be careful when you let her back in.

Welcome to my life! I posted in ML about the same issue. You can capstar them after frontline, buts its said they are resistant to the topicals now, so pills are the go to
Go to the vet and get comfortis (I think that's the name) for your dog. It's a pill that kills the eggs and any fleas on the dog. Wash all sheets, pillows, in hot water and vacuum everything: floors, couches, etc. And then repeat.

I was talking to my step-mom and her vet said something similar. She said that frontline just stops working after awhile. But your version makes more sense. The fleas have developed resistance to frontline. Joy.
I'm actually thinking I may have brought them home from her house. She said their dog has them, and their dog is exposed to a lot more than mine (farmland in TN). Ugh. That would make sense they are in the bedroom.
Any ideas what the heck I should do with my suitcase? Can I cover that in borax like the carpets?

I will be moving to AK in 2 weeks (horrible timing since all my clothes are out to pack!). I will be washing everything at the laundromat and then putting in plastic bags and leaving at a friends house. I will also be spraying the suitcase so I can be sure anything in/on them is gone and bringing it over there too

I would borax or Diatomaceous Earth food grade everything you can. I also buy a cheap flea collar to go into my vacuum I'd never use it on the pets themselves. Empty and keep vacuuming. Also I've moved on to Comfortis as well but I don't have a cat so have to ask the vet about that one. I really am praying for a hard winter to kill all these bugs this year.
