That sucks! I hope it clears up quickly. How does one get MRSA? I thought it was something you usually catch while in the hospital. Is it something that comes back since you mentioned you had it before on your jaw? Sorry for all the questions I'm just curious.
Sounds painful:( feel better! How do they know it's mrsa so fast?? At the hospital cultures take a day or two?
No idea! That's a good question though. They better not have just assumed.
Welll...not "assumed" exactly, but MRSA has a characteristic appearance and it's a "better safe than sorry" scenario. Sure, it could be a run-of-the-mill non-resistant staph infection, but they pretty much treat it all the same way these days anyway. And especially if you've had it before, it's a safe assumption that that's what it is again.

Ugh, I'm sorry! It's good that they got you on antibiotics. The cultures do take a few days to get back, but you'll want to be on the antibiotics if it is MRSA.
I have one on my chin right now and am also scared that it's MRSA. I think every bump on anyone in this house is MRSA these days. So paranoid.
