I am 30w PG this week! EKKKK!!!!!!!! My swelling in my feet has gone done quite a bit lately, not sure if its due to my really hydrating more or what but I am happy.
On the petty side....I am annoyed. My cousin who is due 1w before me wore the EXACT same dress to her baby shower yesterday and my shower is in 2 weeks. I sent her the link to the dress once I picked it out....I just don't get why she had to wear the EXACT same one. Luckily our showers are in separate states so only family will see both dresses on FB but i KNOW my family will think I copied her when it was the other way around. PETTY PARTY of 1 here!!!!
We just found out we're having a GIRL! We already have a son, so I don't know why this shocked me so much. Also, I still haven't gotten used to thinking of this pregnancy as yielding an actual person at the end.
(in other news, the chromosomal testing all came back normal. that was so great to hear)
mpc, so exciting!!!!!!!!!! Girls are so much fun! The clothes are OMG so cute!!!!! I got some SUPER cute Nautica onesies on amazon for $7 for a 5 pack and they are SUCH good quality and so cute!
starryfish- I like because of your first too things, I would be annoyed with my cousin too.
mpc- I'm glad everything is normal and how are you already far enough along to get your results back?!? Wow time for everyone else seems to fly by, as it slowly goes by for me, lol.
Yay, mpc! I'm so happy for you starryfish, I'd be annoyed too.
AFM, just trucking along. I have my 37 week appt at 4pm today and I'm hoping they'll do a cervical check, but I'm pretty sure that'll wait until next week. I had some irregular contractions yesterday, but only for a couple hours. Its crazy to think I could go into labor anytime (but that it also could still be 4 weeks, womp womp).
starryfish, your cousin sounds like mine. I got engaged first, and the night before I got engaged she told my mom and I that she didn't want to get exchanged for a while still. And that she told her bf no holiday engagements ever. Low and behold, she suddenly gets a ring for vday. I plan my wedding for June, she goes, ok I claim May (nevermind the fact that she's a teacher too and then complained about having to delay her honeymoon. I picked purple dresses, she then picks after hearing that I picked purple, you guessed it, purple.
The best was when she told my mom that my shower better not be on my bday, since she didnt want to share attention on her wedding weekend.
A remembered my parents almost immediately! She's so much more relaxed here than at my aunt's house. I can put her down. I can hand her off. I can take a crap by myself! Wheeeee!

I have been known to beg H not to leave in the morning before I've had a chance to poop.

I'd be upset about that too, starryfish! Not cool! mpc, "Thinking of this pregnancy as yielding an actual person in the end" describes my perspective EXACTLY! My H just rolls his eyes because I've been known to frequently say things to this effect a lot. Even still at 29 weeks.
After last week's good news with the fetal cardiologist, I officially have nothing left on my list to worry about. Scary to admit. We hung curtains in the baby's room over the weekend and I ordered a new floor lamp. Next I need to order the changing pad thing and crib mattress. It's so weird to be setting up a room for this hypothetical person. Our little tiny townhome is getting VERY crowded.
Z turns one this week. I have so many feelings about this. My baby is a toddler now...
He looks so old! I was way more emotional about this than I expected.
Even H keeps saying he wants her to stay little forever. This is why people have more than one, folks.
Ugh I know he does! He learned how to make baskets with his little tikes basketball hoop yesterday. A friend told me he looked like a 2 year doing it. ::sob:: I'm feeling more emotional about it than I thought I would be as well.
G22, he looks like a real little person and not a baby anymore! It's funny, I hadn't notice how much A has changed in the last couple of months. Then we came back to my parents' house, and in the context of the home she lived in as a little baby, she's starting to look more toddler-like.

I can definitely see the little girl coming out in H sometimes.
G22- he does look older then 1. He is a very handsome toddler.
I just had my 32 week appointment. We discussed what to do if I went into labour now. 😳 No that is still weeks away I'm not ready for that sort of talk yet. Lol!
I ask for my flu shot, which is great now I don't have to find a pharmacy that has the version I need. Now to get DH to do his. (He never gets one, but he will this year.)
awick14, I got my shot done at Shopper's last year when I was pregnant. I'm pretty sure they had the version that was safe for pregnant women because I even went over it extensively with the pharmacist before they jabbed me. Also, you know that your H's shot should be free, too. Everyone in my household (parents, H, and little sister) got their shots for free last year. Just have him tell the drugstore he lives with a pregnant woman, and they'll cover it. I think you just need your healthcare card.
Does anyone know if infants should get one? And if so, is there a special kind? I'll phone A's GP today to ask, but thought I'd ask here too.

Yes. Over the age of 6 months. Not entirely certain of the differences.
loira- Dh can get a free shot every year if he lives with me. (I have asthma, so I qualify for the free shot and so does whoever lives with me.) My OB said today that babies can't have them until 6 months, so A should be fine to get one, and she said that after six months there isn't a certain one that you need for a child. She said that they only difference between the pregnancy one and the regular one is that there is one preservative that is not tested on pregnant woman. She says that they don't think there is any side effects of this preservative.
loira we have to talk to the pedi on Friday about getting C's flu shot but I do know that for him they have to break it into 2 shots. I was too at one point they can't give babies his age (7.5 months) the shot in one dose.

Yes, when I phoned today they said that A was fine to get one, but that it was recommended we do it at the public health unit instead of the drugstore. I'm assuming this is mainly because public health is much more used to giving shots to babies. Plus it's a building full of trained nurses so if she reacts there are plenty of people on hand to help.

Congrats on your girl, mpc! I can't believe your little guy is already almost 1, G22.
My little miss is already 9 days old. Had her check up today and after going down to 6lbs4oz when we left the hospital, she's already gained up to 7lbs3oz. I'm making tons of milk, which is making it tough for her to latch sometimes so we're struggling with some nipple pain. Otherwise, she's a very chill baby. I just love watching DH with her, she's going to be such a daddy's girl.
35/35 for me today. It is flying by! I have a LOT to do at home to get ready still, but I am also super burnt out at work and can't wait to be done there. So I am feeling torn between thinking that 35 days sounds like no time at all, and also sounds like an eternity.

I remember your story of your MIL putting you into labor G22, crazy how that was a year ago! Z is such a cute boy!
I'm excited for the next group of babies to get here, some of you are getting close!
We are in the middle of the 4 month sleep regression here -- OMG it's awful! And I worry I'm setting up bad habits because I'm letting him nurse back to sleep or sleep in his mamaroo because that's the only way I can get him to settle down, but FUCK I need sleep too! FX this is just a short phase...
