One of my best friends has to have surgery soon to remove a tumor in her breast; they don't know whether it's cancer. She is 23.

This is the same friend whose boyfriend beat her up in February. Ugh, I feel like someone is squeezing my heart right now.

Hopefully it's nothing. Breast cancer is really rare at her age, but it does happen. I know she's scared, too. My friend has been through so much this past year. I hate this for her.

Send thoughts and prayers. I didn't find out until after my first scary, but in your 20s cysts and benign lumps are really common. Benign lumps can run in a family too.

I'm so sorry! I went through something similar at her age and it was benign. I know how scary it can be though.
