Out of curiosity, I found your sister's books and read some reviews- how awesome she has devoted fans! I especially love the one who gives a "heat rating" on on the books lol.

She seriously does! Over 2k on her newsletter list, and thousands of reviews on Amazon and goodreads for her books. She's writing full-time, and making way more than I make as a history professor!
Here's a question - if I were to pull it down through Kindle Unlimited, do you still get paid?
Amazon recently changed how they pay authors for KU downloads--it's now "per page," so they keep track of how many pages you click through, and then through some mysterious algorithm the author gets a cut. I've heard that a lot of authors aren't happy with the system, because there's a major lack of transparency.

I just downloaded it through Kindle Unlimited, and as soon as I did that I wondered the same thing. it's next on my list to read! Congrats.
I do like me some historical romance so I'll check your sister out as well.

Do you receive some sort of notification on how many books you've sold?
Thanks!
Amazon has a Kindle Direct Publishing page, where they give you reports about books sold, and even the number of pages read each day by people who have Kindle Unlimited. It's easy to become unhealthily obsessed with checking your stats. Not that I would know anything about that. Nope.Â
I don't have anything pressing to read*, and I took a walk and then read during lunch.
*Most of the books I've been "reading" have been on audiobook.
Do you want me to call you, and read you the book over the phone? I can do a lot of voices.
LOL! That would be the best. Especially for my drive home. However, if we did go that route, you'd have to wait until I finished the Hamilton book. Only 30 more hours to go!

Well that's a big no on getting Kindle Unlimited.
Yeah, it's kind of crazy how closely they can watch you. Like, I don't know how many people downloaded the book, but I got 418 page reads on 10/21.
Please tell me hanno the golden elephant makes it in
Oh man, Hanno arrived in Rome during the EXACT SAME MONTH my novel is set, and I mention Pope Leo X multiple times, BUT I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO INCLUDE HANNO!
Major oversight. I'll have to start revisions right away!
