I'm not really into creating a challenge ('read a book with an author that begins with the letter V!'), so let's go with deciding on three books to read over the course of the next three months. I'm going to cheat and use the Goodreads Choice Awards to help narrow down the categories and books. So vote for the three categories you most want to read (and the book eventually chosen from that category WILL BE from the GR nominees, so choose wisely). The top three most popular categories will be what we use to select a book (to also be voted on) for the next three months.
Here's the book nominees by Category links in case you want to check them out before voting:
YA and adult are together? I don't generally enjoy YA, but I'd be game for most adult fiction books.
That's where the book voting comes in. Figured it would be easier to lump them together so there'd be more books to choose from but not so many categories. But I'll try to make the YA options be fewer if those joint categories win, if for no other reason than YA books don't usually have as much to talk about.
Thanks everyone for voting! The winning categories for the next three months are: December - Fiction January - Historical Fiction February - Mystery/Thriller
If participation for those three months are good, we'll keep going with the following runners up: March - Fantasy/Science-Fiction April - Non-Fiction/Memoir/History/Biography/AutoBiography
Once the Semi-Final round picks are announced tomorrow on Goodreads, I'll add new polls for voting for the specific book we will read for each winning category.
