So, I've gone through a string of things that I truly believe have affected the engery of my house, even when I've recently moved (as I stayed in the place where I XH and I lived so I recently decided to move and did). A close friend of mine, who has gone through a similar journey of mine, mentioned "saging" to me and thought I should try it. -funkman.org/innerjourney/journeys/energy/smudging.html, and I'd heard of it before, so I thought "well, what have I got to lose." I just moved into a house that is 100 years old...there are probably some bad vibes combinded with the vibes of the mutal things XH and I owned that I kept (like the bed, which is pretty big deal). + the guy that I was just dating stayed with me my first night, so he just ruined it all.
So, i did it. I saged.
And yesterday, I went to find a tarot card reader I went to a few months while randomly walking through market that's in town every weekend. I saw her and though "why not?". She basically called my whole work situation to a tee. She did a whole reading, but a seperate reading for this and she nailed it. She was no where to be found yestederday when I went to look for her to ask her more.
Som my question is, how much through do you put into the whole metaphysical physic thing? I grew up Catholic/going to church/still believe in God and a higher power (but one that includes EVERYONE, so I don't identify with Catholicsm much). I'm really curious to hear people's thoughts and experiences. I actually think that "cleansing", physically, is a good thing. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but who knows? The whole "tarot card lady reading my work situation" really weirded me out.
I tend to identify as more agnostic than anything. But I do believe that there are metaphysical beings, and that psychics/mediums (the real ones) do have some powers. I've seen and dealt with my fair share of spirits over the course of my life, so I kinda have to believe lol.
I've saged houses before where there were spirits present. But the good ones usually stayed. I had a 100+ year old house that I saged where the old woman that died there still stuck around and banged around in the kitchen from time to time. She loved it there, and I was fine with her staying.
I honestly don't know if sage smudgings really does much in totality, but I'm of the mind that if it gives you peace of mind and better 'cleansed' mental state, then that's what's going to influence the metaphysical world around you.

There is good and energy all around us.
I believe that saging works. I don't know how or why and frankly I don't care. I also believe that electricity works. Again I don't know how or why, and frankly I don't care.
Personally I don't need to understand things to believe they work.

I believe in the power of the brain to convince us that what we want to think/hear is true. If you believe saging working, then it will probably help, not necessarily because it cleared up any bad energy or whatever, but because you believe that it did, so you'll have a different (more positive) outlook on things that do happen. Confirmation bias.
I believe it in it. I practice in it even. I keep a bundle of sage around just in case. I have had several friends ask me for some to cleanse themselves or their home. I do tarot card readings and have been reading for 12 years now. I am learning to do rune readings as well. Aura readings are possible, just difficult. I always question those that say they can capture your aura on film... I own a few pendulums, the malachite being my preferred. Every person has a type of stone or material that resonates with them. Malachite has been mine. I didn't even realize it until one day I looked at my jewelry and realized that the majority of it had malachite in it.

There was a period of time in my life when I could see people's auras. I can't any more, but I can feel them. I think most people have this ability if they knew how to do it.

Agreed. It is amazing what someone is capable of if they just allow themselves to.

I'm having a day. I read the title and thought it said "sagging" and "physical" and was going to help me get my sagging boobs up where they used to be. Sigh.
As for the sage smudging...I posted about this a while back. I did it and felt good about it..is it mind over matter....maybe? I'm catholic, but not religious....I believe in positive/negative energy and spirits. Do what works for you. I like the idea of saging to "clean" things! May go home today and do it.
