They moved in together over a month ago. I fully intend to see her at my house at Christmas. She's 38 and a super nice person. It's my understanding she's a social worker at a recovery center. She has a 16-year-old son.
So I'm asking those of you lovely ladies who are in their 30's: what would be a nice small gift to give to her. I don't know much about what she likes and dislikes, but can you suggest some generic gifts--BESIDES candles and lotions?
It's been 10 years since I've had to fuss over what to give DS1's GF, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

A coffee or tea gift set. A box of Cheryl's cookies. A box of really good chocolates. Those things are great, if she enjoys them herself, and if not, great to have, a when entertaining. Since you don't know her style, I would avoid clothing or accessories.

Did anyone mention soaps yet? I got my don's gf (younger than your son's gf) a few bars of handmade soaps and I'm going to find a nice little box at a craft fair to put them in that she can hold bobby pins or somesuch in after. But I do like the etsy gift card idea, too. Kinda wish I'd thought of it first.

Some ideas of things I'd like--- a nice scarf, simple silver earrings, Alex and ani bracelet or silver bracelet, wine, gift card to sephora, Amazon, Starbucks.
I like all of the suggestions so far. A nice Christmas decoration might be nice, too. It may be tricky because tastes can be so different, but I think a classic or fun piece is always nice, it really marks the occasion/holiday and can be put away for a year without hard feelings. Who knows, it ::might:: be something to cherish for years as a "first".
