I was bored over the weekend (shocking?) and saw a thread on ML that would be fun to do over here! What makes you unique or that most other SO'ers can't say they've done/experienced/whatever?
1. I had one of my ovaries removed and didn't find out about it until a week later. 2. I've been locked in a jail cell with a murderer 3. I met with FBI agents at a Perkins to discuss a former co-worker and they bought me a hot chocolate.
I had something similar to a spinal stroke during back surgery at 16. For the last 12 years I have had a partially paralyzed left hand, and cannot feel pain or temperature for the most part in my left arm. The back surgery was to correct my severe scoliosis. I would have been dead by the age of 40 if I did not have it. I had one of the rarest kinds of scoliosis.

How did that happen?
During my DS's c-section, the doctor took it out because of a cyst, but didn't bother to tell me about it then....or during my 4 days recovering in the hospital. My primary mentioned in passing a week later and I'm all "huuuuhhhhh???"
In honor of Doris: In college I was an informant to law enforcement. Don't know how unique that makes me since lots of people do that, LOL.
Up until two years ago, both my parents were only children. Then my dad found his long-lost half-brother so I have family now. I've never met him or his family and doubt I ever will.

I almost died when I was 1.5 years old from streptococcal osteomyelitis. It ate a large hole through my femur in under 3 days. I have a big scar on my leg from where they had to cut open to clean out the infection, one on my chest from where they had to put a tube into my heart to deliver medication, and another one on my chest from stitches, they had to remove a piece of plastic 4 years later that got left behind when they pulled out the tube.
Adorable baby DDD, you can see the cast on my foot, it went all the way up my leg and around my waist.

I have scholiosis but I'm considered a strange case that my doctor wanted to keep in contact with as a research subject. When I was 16 he was 100% sure that I'd need a rod put in my back, then the next appointment, my spine had straightened up enough that I didn't need it. Then they had to run all kinds of tests on me to see if anything else was wrong and nothing was.

- I have 13 piercings, but you would never know just by passing me on the street. - In high school, my graduating class voted me class clown. - I am the first person in my company to have worked in all three divisions.

My bones are malformed. I have child sized bones and that is why they break so easily. When i broke my collar bone, they had to put a plate on it. The adult plate was too large, the child plate was too large, they finally had to fabricate something to put me back together. This is also why I have TMJ, my bottom jaw is too small and puts a strain on my joint.
My jaw locked for a week straight in HS and all I could eat was yogurt, mashed potatoes, ensure, and pudding. I lost weight rapidly (and was already thin), so my mom started putting meals in blenders and making me drink them. They were NOT good.
